OverviewMSC Cruises is the world’s third-largest cruise brand and a leader in Europe, South America, the Gulf region and Southern Africa, with substantial market share and deployed capacity. Reporting to the VP, Integrated Marketing, the Director of Media will lead the development and execution of all paid media plans to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of a significant annual media investment, driving bookings and revenue. This role oversees media spending across TV, Radio, Print, Streaming, Paid Search, Paid Social and Affiliate, tailored to MSC Cruises' brand and audience. Key responsibilities Media Strategy Development: Collaborate with the VP, Integrated Marketing and the Marketing team to develop holistic media strategies aligned with business objectives, brand positioning, and audience preferences. Use market research, consumer insights, and competitive analysis to inform decisions. Media Planning & Buying: Lead development and execution of media plans across traditional and digital channels (print, TV, radio, digital display, paid search, social, programmatic). Support agency partner negotiations to optimize reach, frequency, and cost efficiency. Audience Targeting & Segmentation: Identify and prioritize target segments based on demographics, psychographics, and behavior. Develop tailored campaigns and messaging to drive actions for the MSC brand. Creative Integration: With agencies, ensure seamless integration of media placements with brand messaging and assets. Align strategies with campaign themes to maintain consistency and authenticity. Co-Op Marketing: Consult with the Sales team to provide recommendations on partners, placements, and units for co-op marketing, and interpret results to inform future decisions. Performance Optimization: Monitor and analyze media performance metrics (reach, impressions, CTRs, conversions). Implement data-driven optimizations to improve campaign effectiveness, ROI, and CPA. Innovation: Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in media and digital marketing. Seek opportunities to experiment with new channels, formats, and targeting strategies. Budget Management: Develop and manage media budgets in alignment with Marketing budgets and revenue targets. Track expenses, reconcile invoices, and provide regular updates to senior leadership (quarterly or more frequently). Partnership Development: Cultivate relationships with media vendors, agencies, and partners to stay informed on trends and opportunities. Evaluate new platforms for potential integration. Campaign Reporting & Analysis: Generate regular reports and dashboards on media performance and KPIs. Provide actionable recommendations for optimization and future planning. Team Leadership: Guide a small internal team and support external agency partners to maximize day-to-day output and longer-term career opportunities. Your Journey so far Media Planning: Demonstrated success in developing and executing integrated media strategies, with experience in planning, buying, and optimization across traditional and digital channels, aimed at driving brand awareness, engagement, bookings, and revenue growth. Industries: Ideally Travel, Leisure and Hospitality (Cruise, Airline, Car Rental, Hotel, Resort, Live Entertainment, etc.). Digital Marketing: Strong background in digital platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Facebook Ads Manager, programmatic) and in leveraging them to create and optimize campaigns for ROI. Tech Stack: Ad Platforms, Analytics, DMPs, Programmatic, CRM, Marketing Automation, Data Visualization. Team Leadership: Experience leading teams, managing budgets, and overseeing agency partnerships in fast-paced settings. Your Essentials US Passport or US Permanent Resident status required.
