Position OverviewThe Director of Construction Trades Institute is responsible for the planning, organization, management, implementation, continuous review, and analysis of the project. This includes ensuring that the project complies with funder’s requirements, achieves objectives and outcomes, and is implemented successfully. This is a Professional Exempt Contractual (PEC) position for which an annual contract reflecting the base salary within the fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th) will be issued after ratification by Miami Dade College’s District Board of Trustees.This grant position will be eligible for participation in the Florida Retirement System (FRS) after 6 consecutive months of continuous employment.This is a temporary grant funded position through June 30, 2028, contingent upon grant or funding and grant extensions.What you will be doingOversees the development of construction trades programs, ensuring alignment with industry standardsCollaborates on curriculum development, job placement initiatives, and advisory board activitiesDevelops and implements initiatives to support student success, retention, and completion within construction trades programsOversees the maintenance and enhancement of facilities, labs, and equipment used for construction trades educationRepresents the department and institution at community events, industry conferences, and networking opportunitiesPrepares and submits reports to grantors, detailing project progress, outcomes, and overall statusEnsures compliance with College and funding agency policies, procedures, and regulationsIdentifies opportunities for program growth, innovation, and expansion to meet the evolving needs of the construction industryReviews and prepares materials for dissemination via articles, reports, presentations, etcHires, supervises, and evaluates project staffPerforms other duties as assignedWhat you need to succeedMaster’s degree and three (3) years of related experience; or Bachelor’s degree and seven (7) years of related experience including three (3) years of professional experience in the construction industryAll degrees must be from a regionally accredited institutionKnowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and proceduresStrong knowledge of construction industry practices, technologies, and workforce trendsFamiliarity with relevant software and technology tools used in construction trades educationExperience with accreditation processes and standards for technical education programsExcellent organizational, interpersonal, and written and oral communications skillsExperience planning, coordinating and organizing complex, multi-activity projects (preferable in education setting)Knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft office software and specific computer programs related to area of responsibilityStrong leadership skills that promote dedication, creativity, innovation, and growthAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions for reporting purposesAbility to effectively present information to groups of managers, clients, customers, students, and the publicAbility to develop cooperative relationships among faculty, staff, administration, and College leadershipAbility to work in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with students, faculty, and staffAdditional RequirementsThe final candidate is to successfully complete a background screening and reference check process. #J-18808-Ljbffr
