CCRJ provides top-tier legal services across construction defects, premises liability, products liability, and commercial litigation, serving clients from insurance carriers and corporations to individuals seeking personal legal services.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time hybrid role for an Attorney (Defense Civil Litigation) based in Denver, CO, with some work-from-home flexibility. The Attorney will manage civil litigation defense cases, conduct legal research, provide legal advice to clients, support Partners in negotiating settlements, and represent clients in court. Day-to-day tasks include drafting legal documents, attending depositions, consulting with clients, and collaborating with colleagues.Core Role ResponsibilitiesLegal Expertise: experience in legal research, writing, analysis, verbal communication skills, organizational abilities, and professional vestigation: conduct comprehensive investigations into claims and disputes, gathering evidence, consulting with experts (such as engineers or architects), and documenting the nature and extent of the material.Drafting Pleadings: prepare legal documents for complaints or petitions to initiate or respond to legal actions, including motions, discovery requests, and other court filings.Discovery Management: oversee the discovery process, obtaining and reviewing technical evidence from the opposing party (documents, depositions, interrogatories).Court Representation: support Firm Partners in representing clients in court hearings, trials, or arbitration, presenting evidence, and making legal arguments to advocate for the client’s interests.Client Communication: keep clients updated on case progress, clarify legal options, and advise on strategic decisions throughout the litigation pliance Assurance: ensure all legal actions align with applicable laws and regulations, safeguarding the interests of the Firm and its clients.Proactive Work Ethic: be a self-starter capable of working independently and collaboratively under varying time constraints to produce high-quality work.Time Management and Attention to Detail: manage time effectively, pay close attention to detail, and prioritize tasks while maintaining an understanding of the case cycle and timeline.RequirementsJuris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law schoolAbility to be admitted to practice law in the state of ColoradoKnowledge in legal writing, drafting, discovery, and filingsWe value personality, attitude, character and integrity alongside skills and experience.
