DCYF partners with state and local agencies, Tribes, and community organizations across Washington to provide services at the most critical points in the lives of children and families, giving them the tools they need to succeed.Click here to learn more about DCYF.The OpportunityIn support of DCYF mission, the goal of the Human Resources Division is to provide high quality human resource services through value added and innovative initiatives focused on enabling the divisions with DCYF to be the best in their related disciplines as they serve the citizens of Washington State. Reporting to the Workplace Claims and Accommodation (WCAU) Manager, this non-permanent position serves as a subject matter expert for complex reasonable accommodation cases, workplace claims, and assault benefits. This position facilities WCAU programs in order to enhance deployment of DCYF’s workforce so they can protect children and youth and enable families to flourish.ResponsibilitiesSome of what you will be doing while managing an active caseload:Provide expert level advice and consultation to agency leadership and employees.Create and maintain legally defensive and binding documentation for reference in future legal proceedings.Researching and staying current with new legislation and case law.Monitor claims on behalf of DCYF.Act as a liaison between agency, health care providers, and L&I representatives.Monitor and support benefits claims to ensure they meet criteria for Stay at Work (SAW) or Preferred Worker employer reimbursement.Provide Payroll with L&I payment orders necessary to track leave.Research and stay current with new legislation and case law.QualificationsFive years of professional human resource experience that includes three years of managing a caseload of Reasonable Accommodation cases.ORBachelor’s degree with a focus in business, human resources, or related field from an accredited college or university whose accreditation is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).ANDThree years of professional human resource experience that includes two years of managing a caseload of reasonable accommodation cases.Preferred/Desired QualificationsExperience in working with health care providers.Experience providing information for internal and external complaints along with information requestsHow to applyComplete your applicant profile on careers.wa.gov and attach the following documents:Current resume detailing experience and education.Letter of Interest.Supplemental InformationThe Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) is committed to Washington’s children and youth growing up safe, healthy, and thriving.
