Entry Level Field Technician (SUE/ Survey)

Job Title: Level Field Technician (SUE/Survey) Job Description We are seeking entry-level SUE/Survey Technicians to join a dynamic team in Sanford, FL. This outdoor position involves heavy lifting and is ideal for individuals interested in long-term career growth. Technicians will receive training in the technical aspects of Survey and Utility Locating. Responsibilities * Perform heavy labor including using hand tools, digging, setting up the site, operating a vacuum truck, and site clean-up. * Conduct minor maintenance and troubleshooting of operating problems on vacuum systems and vehicles. * Clean and maintain vehicles, work sites, and equipment. * Select and apply appropriate geophysical prospecting equipment to accurately designate non-complex underground utility layouts. * Comprehend and interpret utility and highway design plans, atlases, and record drawings. * Complete paperwork including record-keeping and simple mathematics legibly and accurately. * Set up maintenance of traffic as directed and make basic field measurements. * Perform geophysical prospecting as instructed. Essential Skills * Ability to perform heavy labor and work outside in extreme heat and weather. * High school education or GED. * Valid driver's license and ability to pass an MVR check. * Ability to lift 50 lbs or more. * Willingness to travel, possibly extensively, up to 5 days during the week. * Availability to work overtime as needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications * Previous utility locating or survey experience is a plus. Work Environment The work environment is outdoors, working in a crew of 2-3 individuals. The role involves extensive travel, requiring resilience to extreme weather conditions. A valid driver's license is necessary, and overtime may be required.
