Job Title: Mechanical Engineer Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of innovative mechanical components and systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong experience in design and manufacturing, with a focus on working in a regulated industry such as medical devices. Responsibilities + Independently research, design, modify, and verify complex mechanical components, subassemblies, equipment, and systems. + Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing, and Project Management teams. + Conduct advanced prototyping and feasibility tests, analyze results, provide recommendations, and develop reports that translate into validated, innovative products. + Analyze and resolve manufacturing issues and non-conformances for new and existing products. + Interface with external vendors, contract manufacturers, consultants, and manufacturing technicians. + Travel to customer and supplier sites, both domestically and internationally. Essential Skills + Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Biomedical, or related field). + At least 4 years of mechanical design experience in R&D teams, ideally in the medical device or another regulated industry. + Hands-on experience with materials selection, DFM/DFA principles, and manufacturing processes such as injection molding, CNC machining, soft goods, and sheet metal. + Strong proficiency with 3D CAD modelling, specifically Solidworks. + Proficiency in detailed drawing creation, tolerance analysis, and GD&T. + Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Integration of PCBs, flex circuits, sensors, actuators, motors, cable harnesses, and/or embedded systems into compact, robust enclosures. + Understanding of medical device industry and regulatory requirements for Class I and Class II medical devices. Experience in pre-clinical or human clinical settings is a bonus. + Experience with motion control, kinematics, mechatronics, FEA, and/or human factors is considered a plus. Work Environment The position involves working in a collaborative environment with cross-functional teams, where the ability to travel to various customer and supplier sites is required. The role may also include working with a variety of manufacturing processes and requires proficiency in using CAD software. The work environment is dynamic, with opportunities to engage in both independent and team-based projects. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Valencia, California. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $72.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
