OverviewThe Associate General Counsel provides legal advice, services and support to the organization under the supervision of General Counsel in all aspects of the companys operations. This position will be actively involved in a wide array of legal matters, including, but not limited to contracts, product-related risk management, intellectual property interests, regulatory compliance, human resource matters, insurance requirements, and corporate governance.Job FunctionsAssists in negotiating, drafting and reviewing legal documents, contracts, and agreementsProvides advice on corporate governance and legal issuesConducts legal research and analysis on various issuesEnsures compliance with all local and national laws and regulationsMaintains a library of contract templates, historical legal files, and other related documentationSupports the legal department in managing internal and external legal sourcesAssists with compliance matters and ensures that the organization operates within legal guidelinesSupports the legal department in litigation mattersWorks closely with internal departments to provide legal guidance and support on various mattersKeeps abreast of legal developments and updates relevant to the organization's operationsMaintains absolute confidentialityPerforms other duties and/or tasks as assignedSkillsExceptional organizational skills and the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and see tasks through to completionAbility to see big picture issues, combined with strong attention to detailAbility to analyze risk and make risk determinationsAbility to think strategicallyDemonstrated integrity, strong work ethic and sound judgmentCommitment to maintaining strict confidentiality standardsExcellent communication skills (written and verbal) and a demonstrated ability to communicate complex legal requirements to non-legal audiencesExcellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to establish and build rapport with team members and external third partiesExperience reviewing, negotiating, drafting and enforcing contractsExperience with litigation-related matters and processesKnowledge of general intellectual property principles, particularly trademark lawKnowledge of general insurance principlesKnowledge of general litigation principlesStrong Microsoft 365 and Adobe skillsRequired Qualifications and EducationJuris Doctor degree from an accredited law school4 years minimum of relevant legal experience in related fieldAdmission to practice in the State of Wisconsin and license to practice in good standingTravel needs for this role are minimal and rare (Physical Demands Must be able to sit for 7+ hours a dayMust be mobile within an office space to access files, office and/or computer equipmentMust be able to operate customary office equipment, including a computer, telephone, copier/scannerMust be able to communicate verbally and in writing in EnglishMust be able to read from a screenRegular, predictable attendance required during standard business hoursBenefitsHealth InsuranceVision InsuranceDental Insurance401(k)Life InsuranceAD&D InsuranceDisability InsuranceFlexible Spending AccountEmployee Assistance ProgramEmployee DiscountPaid Sick/Personal TimePaid Vacation TimeDisclaimer Nothing in this job description restricts managements right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.Reasonable accommodations can be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.LeMans Corporation is an equal opportunity employer.
