We are unable to provide sponsorship at this moment.Job Title: Healthcare - Medicare Underwriter Location: Durham, North Carolina (Remote)Duration: 12 Months Contract rolePay rate: $29-$33/hr. on W2 Job ResponsibilitiesManage a Book of Business with up to 100,000 members and representing up to $350,000,000 in premium or premium equivalent.Meet or exceed Business Segment revenue, margin, membership, persistency goals.Provide consultative service to both internal and external customers.Has the authority to make decisions within the bounds stipulated by Underwriting Management and departmental policies.Produce regular and ad hoc reports for Underwriting Management.Analyze underwriting risk and determines premium rates for fully insured groups and funding rates for ASO groups.Utilize technical expertise to make recommendations regarding benefit and funding plan design options. Assist with underwriting process and system changes.Participate in final rate and benefit discussions with Sales and external group customers.May assist with the development and provision of training to the underwriting staff, sales staff, and other departments in the principles and practices of underwriting and rating.
