Estimator, Mechanical Estimator, HVAC Estimator, MEP EstimatorSan Jose, CA 95112 (Onsite)Location: SF Bay Area (Corporate office located in San Jose, CA)H1B Visa sponsorship is not available for this specific positionSUMMARY:An Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for HVAC and plumbing projects. This role requires strong analytical skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documentsRESPONSIBILITIES:Review and analyze project drawings, specifications, and related documentsPrepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors. Obtain and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotesProvide all deliverables for RFP purposes, e.g., budget/bid, schedule, and approachPerforms all preconstruction, estimating, and bidding functionsConduct site visits as needed to assess conditions and gather information for accurate estimatingCollaborate with project managers, engineers, and field personnel to ensure accurate scoping and pricingAssist in developing budgets for design-build and negotiated projectsParticipate in design-build efforts by providing early-phase cost input, value engineering options, and constructability feedback during the design processMaintain and update historical cost data and estimating toolsPrepare and present bid proposals and ensure timely submissionTrack project budgets and assist in change order pricingIdentify and communicate potential project risks and opportunitiesUnderstands subcontractor bidding risks and exercises best bidding practicesStay up to date with market trends, pricing, and construction methodsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Preferred 3+ years of estimating experience in HVAC and plumbingProficient in estimating software (e.g., Trimble, FastPIPE, QuoteSoft, Bluebeam, or similar)Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical documentsExcellent analytical, organizational, and communication skillsHigh attention to detail and ability to meet deadlinesStrong computer skills (MS Excel, Word, etc.)Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred; equivalent field experience acceptableStrong interpersonal skills and effective communication skills must accompany their technical skillsQualified applicants are evaluated without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, political affiliation or belief, age, gender identity, disability, status as a protected veteran, or any other protected characteristic.
