bout the Role:We are seeking a Benefits Analyst with deep experience in self-funded health plans and a strategic, forward-thinking mindset. This is more than a quoting and renewals roleits about understanding the full funding landscape, identifying cost drivers, and delivering innovative, data-driven solutions that help clients make smart decisions.Working in close partnership with consultants and account managers, youll play a key role in designing and presenting tailored renewal strategies, mid-year reviews, and funding recommendations that go beyond the standard.Key Responsibilities:Analyze and interpret claims data for fully insured and self-funded plans to identify trends, cost drivers, and opportunities for savings.Develop and model strategic funding scenarios, including insights on stop-loss levels, aggregate/specific attachments, and other self-funding mechanisms.Deliver clear, competitive, and actionable renewal presentations and mid-year reports to internal teams and clients.Collaborate with consultants and account managers to evaluate carrier proposals, suggest revisions, and explore alternative plan designs or funding strategies.Bring an analytical and strategic lens to benefits planning, aligning recommendations with client objectives and long-term goals.Qualifications:24 years of experience in employee benefits analysis, with hands-on experience in self-funded plans (required).Associate degree in a related field or equivalent work experience; Bachelors degree preferred.Strong understanding of healthcare funding models, claims analysis, and stop-loss structures.Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large, complex data sets.Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex funding concepts to non-technical audiences.Collaborative team player with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.What We Offer:Competitive base salary with bonus potentialComprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company contribution, and generous PTOAscendo is a certified minority owned staffing firm, and we welcome and celebrate diversity.
