Job Title: Credentialing SpecialistLocation: Morristown, NJ 07960Duration: 3 months (Contract, with potential extension)Schedule: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week | MondayFriday, 8:00 AM 4:00 PM Position OverviewThe Credentialing Specialist will be responsible for managing and processing provider credentialing and recredentialing applications, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion of credentialing functions. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and prior experience with provider credentialing processes and software such as Echo or CredentialStream. Key ResponsibilitiesEnforce regulatory compliance and quality assurance standards in all credentialing activities.Process applications for initial providers and reappointments (approximately 125200 quarterly).Collect, verify, and process significant amounts of provider data, including education, training, licensure, certifications, and work history.Maintain accurate provider records in the Echo credentialing database (or CredentialStream).Prepare reports and materials for Credentials Committee, MEC, and Board of Trustees meetings.Track license and certification expirations to ensure provider compliance.Schedule and occasionally attend site-based medical staff department meetings; take and maintain meeting minutes.Process and collect dues for site-based medical pile and maintain up-to-date data for all providers in both electronic and paper records.Maintain confidentiality of provider information in all activities.Support process improvements in credentialing workflows.Perform other duties as assigned. QualificationsMinimum 2 years of provider credentialing experience required.Previous experience with Echo or Credential Stream strongly preferred.Knowledge of credentialing standards, regulations, and processes.Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with internal teams and providers.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and credentialing software.
