In North America, we are headquartered in Princeton, NJ, with offices in California, Massachusetts, and Ontario.Ideal candidates would like near a major airport.Job SummaryThe Field Reimbursement Manager is a regionally field-based position that provides reimbursement and access support for patients who have been prescribed a rare disease product. Reporting to the Director, Patient Access Solutions, the role will work closely with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and ancillary staff, as well as patients and caregivers, to prevent and address barriers to patient access and reimbursement. The role will align with Kyowa Kirin’s Commercial and Patient Services Teams to ensure collaboration on behalf of patients and care teams for access to uninterrupted therapy and support throughout the treatment journey.ResponsibilitiesProvide coordination of care to patients and their caregivers accessing a rare disease product by working with healthcare providers to ensure accessConduct in-person meetings with patients, healthcare providers, and/or office staff to discuss and educate on product-specific coverage and reimbursement, alternative insurance and coverage options, and information to aid continued accessAssist with and provide information and education regarding general reimbursement processes to help HCPs obtain reimbursement for their patientsEducate and inform patients and providers throughout the treatment journey to maintain treatment schedules as prescribedServe as subject matter expert on relevant reimbursement topics related to rare disease therapyProvide billing, reimbursement, and procurement options expertiseSupport troubleshooting of billing and coverage hurdles with office staffProvide ongoing support to Kyowa Kirin’s Patient Services, Marketing, Market Access, Sales, Legal/Compliance, and Medical teams as neededLiaise with Kyowa Kirin’s Commercial team and external stakeholdersAttend meetings and represent Kyowa Kirin at industry conferences as neededSupport attendance at company-sponsored and external customer meetings when requestedDevelop expertise in regional, national, and government-funded plansUnderstand company-based and external co-pay and financial support programs and advocacy groupsQualificationsEducationBachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience requiredExperienceMinimum 5+ years in a Market Access and/or Patient Services role with extensive knowledge of patient access and reimbursementTechnical SkillsProficient in MS Office SuiteNon-Technical Skills3+ years informal leadership experience in biotech/pharmaceutical industry; product launch experience preferredRare Disease and Specialty products experience preferredSpanish language ability preferredPatient-focused, highly motivated, with a proactive attitudeStrong professional growth mindset and ability to think strategically and execute tacticallyAbility to collaborate, educate and lead peers in a team environment, both office and field basedAbility to assist with providing information on complex reimbursement and processes to patients and medical professionalsProfessional demeanor with patients, families, and medical professionalsExcellent organizational, written, listening, and communication skillsExcellent time management, both as a team and individuallyAbility to influence others without authorityUnderstanding of specialty channel patient-level dataQuick learner and adaptable to changeTravel & Work EnvironmentField-based role with normal office environment; up to 80% domestic and international travel.Notice & ComplianceKyowa Kirin North America is an equal employment opportunity employer.
