Are you excited working on electric grid transmission planning, generation, large load interconnection such as data centers ?DNV Energy Systems’ group has an exciting opportunity for a Power System Study Engineer in its Renewables & Power Grids service area. Our team provides creative, cost effective and practical solutions to stakeholders in the power generation, transmission, and distribution systems. The Engineer must demonstrate vision and drive and be passionate about contributing to the growth of the Power Systems Advisory business in North America. Our approach reflects the equity, respect, and diversity we wish to see in the world.What You’ll DoPerform electrical System Impact Studies such as Steady State, Dynamic and Transient Stability analyses for generation, large load interconnections in PSS/EPerform Short Circuit studies in ASPENPerform Voltage ride through (VRT) tests, dynamic model quality tests, model benchmarkingPerform transmission planning & compliance assessments for bulk electric power system in PSS/EProduce and/or review technical reports and presentations for external CustomersTimely completion of projects assigned while meeting project quality and project budgetDevelop or modify automation scripts to enhance the efficiency, speed and accuracy of technical simulationsStay up to date with relevant NERC, ISO/RTO planning procedures, policy changes and developmentsContribute to the team’s research and innovation activities in terms of development of new techniques and/or analytical tools to further the team’s performance in terms of efficiency and/or capability improvementsCultivate customer relationships, technical advisory support for generations, and large load interconnections connecting to transmission systemThis role is based at our DNV office in Dallas (TX), Austin (TX), Houston (TX), Oak Brook (IL), Portland (OR), Seattle (WA), Medford (MA) or San Diego (CA) presenting a dynamic hybrid schedule where employees will typically spend three (3) days per week working from either a DNV office or client location/site.
