OverviewThe Edlavitch DC Jewish Community Center (EDCJCC) engages individuals and families through its cultural, recreational, educational, and social justice programs by welcoming people of all backgrounds to connect, learn, serve, and be entertained together in ways that reflect the Center's role in the nation’s capital.Located at the corner of 16th and Q Streets NW, the EDCJCC offers a 65,000 square foot historic building with diverse programs including theater, cinema, social, educational, recreational, professional meetings, and child and family events.Who you areYou are positive and organized and thrive in an environment that challenges you to find flexible and creative solutions to support a wide variety of programs and events, while ensuring the proper maintenance and functions of the physical space. You consistently follow up and follow through on both large and small details, are a self-starter, and have exemplary organizational skills.About the roleThe EDCJCC is seeking a Full-Time Facilities Coordinator to be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the physical condition of the Center and surrounding grounds, according to the Center’s operating and safety standards, along with fulfilling requests and for event set-ups. This may require periodic overtime and on-call duties. The coordinator reports directly to the Facility Manager and works closely with the rental and events managers.ResponsibilitiesPerform basic maintenance tasks, which may include basic appliance repairBasic plumbingBasic electrical repairBasic drywall / sheetrock repairGeneral carpentryWallpaper / paintingPest control, as neededUse of basic cleaning supplies and equipmentAdditional duties and requirements as neededSupport event rentals and internal events, which may include room set-up and break-down (tables, chairs, etc.)Support with audio-visual systemsGuiding caterers and other external vendorsQualificationsHigh School diploma.A minimum of three (2-3) years of experience with facility maintenance and / or events support.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strong interpersonal skills.Keen attention to detail and organization skills.Ability to manage multiple event projects simultaneously.A passion for providing outstanding customer experiences.Required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, lift 50 lbs., and assist in the set up and break down of events.ABRA certification not required, but would be a big plus.Fluency in English required, Spanish would be a big plus.Ability to pass an FBI fingerprint / background check.Authorized to work in the United pensation and benefitsFull-time, exempt; year-round; on-siteSalary range $20-$24 per hourThe EDCJCC offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, HSA, paid time off, 401K, and transportation benefits.Access to free or highly discounted EDCJCC programs, such as Fitness Center and pool membership, language classes, theater productions, film screenings, concerts, volunteer opportunities, and more.
