This position is located 100% on-site in Redondo Beach, California. The role sources and procures specialized goods and services, owns the contractual management for suppliers, and supports programs within the Air Dominance portfolio. The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced, on-site environment with high expectations and collaborative team settings across all levels.This role may support any of the programs that are a part of the Air Dominance portfolio. The position may be filled at a level 3 or level 4.Essential functions, qualifications, and program expectations are described below.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for subcontract sourcing, proposal evaluation, negotiation, award, execution, administration, and closeout phasesAssess supplier performance and regularly communicate feedback to Supplier LeadershipManage supplier performance throughout the subcontracting lifecycleEnsure compliance with FAR, DFARS, public law requirements, and company policies and proceduresIdentify strategies and opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency, and manage risk through strategic negotiationsCultivate and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholdersContribute to Program Risk and Opportunity managementUtilize process tools such as Lean Six Sigma with suppliers to drive quality, efficiency, and continuous improvementThe role also includes coordinating with legal, contracts, finance, planning, operations, program management, engineering, and quality; monitoring schedule, cost, technical, and quality performance of suppliers; and interfacing with supplier leadership to drive contractual performance. Senior Principal Specialists provide subcontracting process and compliance guidance to junior staff and lead or mentor teams as needed.Basic QualificationsPrincipal Subcontract SpecialistBachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience OR a Master’s degree with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Subcontracts, Procurement, Contracts, Finance, or Program/Project ManagementA minimum of 9 years combined experience in Subcontracts, Procurement, Contracts, Finance or Program/Project Management may be considered in lieu of a degreeExperience with SAP/MRP or related business application softwareAbility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government DoD security clearance at the Secret levelSenior Principal Subcontract SpecialistBachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 8 years combined experience OR a Master’s degree with a minimum of 6 years of experience in Subcontracts, Procurement, Contracts, or FinanceA minimum of 12 years combined experience in Subcontracts, Procurement, Contracts, or Finance may be considered in lieu of a degreeExperience with SAP or related business application softwareKnowledge of FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulations) and DFARSAbility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government DoD security clearance at the Secret levelPreferred QualificationsMaster’s degree in Supply ChainExperience working on high-dollar development Subcontracts (e.g., $100M Cost Reimbursable)Negotiating skills with contracts in excess of $100 millionPrevious Team Lead or Management experienceExperience conducting oral presentations to senior leadershipKnowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS)Previous Control Account Manager (CAM) experience or trainingWorking Level Knowledge of Business LawRisk Mitigation experienceChange Management experienceActive DoD Secret ClearanceCompensation and BenefitsSalary ranges: Primary Level $91,200.00 - $136,800.00; Secondary Level $113,500.00 - $170,300.00. The salary range is a general guideline; actual offers depend on scope, responsibilities, candidate experience, education, skills, and market conditions. Eligible employees may receive overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses. Long Term Incentives may apply for VP/Director levels.
