OverviewTrystar is seeking a strategic and experienced General Counsel to develop and lead Trystar’s legal function. This leadership role will oversee all legal matters, primarily in the areas of contracts, corporate governance, compliance, risk management, litigation, and legal strategy. We show up for each other and we know that through teamwork we achieve greatness.Champion change – We know adaptation and improvement are requirements to survive and to thrive.Enjoy the journey – We create a growth mindset environment where our team feels appreciated and has fun taking on new challenges every day.ResponsibilitiesLead and manage all legal affairs of the company, with emphasis on corporate governance, commercial contracts, and litigation.Advise on corporate governance, entity management, and board matters.Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of contracts (e.g., customer, vendor, lease, NDA, licensing, real estate).Provide legal support for litigation, disputes, and employment compliance and legal matters, including coordination with external counsel.Support mergers and acquisitions activity, including pre-close legal coordination and post-acquisition integration.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and international regulations (e.g., data privacy, environmental, import/export), including non-US geographies.Identify and mitigate legal risks across business operations.Develop and maintain internal policies and procedures.Identify and manage relationships with external legal counsel.Manage legal costs and budget.Grow and develop the legal function as required with the growth and needs of the business.QualificationsJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law schoolLicensed and in good standing to practice law in a state or territory of the United StatesMinimum 7 years of legal experience, preferably in a corporate in-house capacityStrong background in contract law, dispute resolution, compliance, and corporate governanceExcellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skillsAlignment with all of Trystar’s Guiding Principles, including IntegrityPreferred AttributesExperience in energy, manufacturing, or technology sectors within a private equity environment.Experience with M&A transactions and integration.Ability to work cross-functionally and influence at all levels of the organizationPrior experience as a corporate GC, Associate GC, or Deputy GC.Seniority levelExecutiveEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionLegalIndustriesManufacturingReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at Trystar by 2xGet notified about new General Counsel jobs in Burnsville, MN. #J-18808-Ljbffr
