The engineer uses IAM tools and platforms to support and manage provisioning, de-provisioning, ensuring they are clearly tracked, reported, and reviewed according to established policies. The engineer builds custom solutions using AWS services for access automation and compliance purposes. The IAM Lead Engineer reports to and collaborates with the Director and their teammates. Qualifications and Skills Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or related field. Experience: 5+ years of cybersecurity or information technology practitioner experience; 3+ years of building IAM solutions and automations. Skills: Familiarity with directory services, Windows and Azure AD, SSO, MFA, RBAC; 3+ years of Agile/Scrum project management; experience administering IAM systems, access controls, security governance fundamentals; experience with Git/Bitbucket and Jenkins. IAM tools: Strong experience with at least one IGA solution (e.g., SailPoint IdentityIQ or similar). Programming/scripting: Preferably 3 years of scripting in Python, PowerShell, or JavaScript. Cloud: Hands-on experience with IAM in AWS; Azure experience is a plus. Leadership: Ability to lead and push change; strong communication and collaboration skills. Essential Job Duties Lead IAM initiatives from inception through delivery. Build custom access automation solutions to manage access to cloud resources using AWS and Azure services. Collaborate with a distributed security and technology team to establish identities and entitlements within IAM solutions. Implement identity controls and settings aligned with policies and governance. Understand Lambda functions written in Python, learn business logic, and make changes as needed. Evaluate and implement access models with security leadership, teammates, and stakeholders to align with organizational risk posture. Assess and resolve IAM issues across employees and external entities. Understand securing access to both on-prem and cloud infrastructure. Document access, policies, and exceptions; maintain integrity for audit reviews. Coordinate with internal Identity and Access Management team on periodic access reviews. Recommend improvements in automation, security practices, and end-user experience. Collect KPIs and metrics and track SLAs to validate success and identify improvements. Execute tactical requests and support the strategic vision for scalable IAM controls. Understand IAM governance, policies, and solutions across SSO, directory, certificate, MFA, privileged accounts, automation, and behavior analytics systems. Manage IAM projects from inception to completion on time and within budget. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $85.00/hr.
