NLP Research Scientist

OPPO Research Center is seeking a passionate and innovative Research Scientist to advance our next-generation AI hardware platforms—including AI Glass/Earphone/etc.—through cutting-edge generative AI research. You will drive the design, training, and deployment of multimodal intelligence models that seamlessly integrate vision, language, and action. As part of our collaborative team, you will co-design algorithms and hardware, translate research into real-world products, and publish at top-tier AI conferences.Key Responsibilities:Lead end-to-end research on generative AI models, focusing on vision-language or other multi-modal architecturesDesign and implement large language model (LLM) training pipelines and efficient inference strategies optimized for AI hardwarePropose and implement AI features to enable new and smooth user experience on AI hardwareCo-design model architectures and hardware primitives to maximize performance, power efficiency, and real-time responsivenessCollaborate closely with hardware engineers, software developers, and product teams to integrate research prototypes into production systemsPublish research findings in premier AI conferences (e.g., ICLR, CVPR) and represent OPPO at workshops and symposiaQualifications:Minimum:Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline, with a focus on AI/MLStrong background in generative AI, with hands-on experience developing vision-language or other multimodal modelsPractical expertise in training and optimizing large language models for both cloud and edge inferenceProficiency in deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) and distributed training systemsDemonstrated track record of publishing in top-tier AI conferences (e.g., ICLR, CVPR, NeurIPS) or equivalent industrial R&D impactExcellent programming skills in Python and familiarity with C++/CUDA for performance-critical componentsPreferred:Experience with model distillation, large language model/vision-language model distillationOPPO is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace.
