Job Description

Vice President Business Development, Department of State (DOS) AECOM Technical Services, Governments is looking for a Vice President Business Development, Department of State (DOS) to lead strategic growth in international development infrastructure and development finance with key clients like the U.S. Department of State (DOS), U.S. Development Finance Corporation (DFC) and U.S. Trade and Development Agency. The role will focus on fostering and maintaining strong relationships with potential customers, partners, and key stakeholders and collaborate closely with our regions, business lines and executive leadership to design and execute growth strategies and implement signature projects that advance U.S. foreign policy while aligning with AECOM's strategic goals. Reports to: Senior Vice President of Federal Civilian Agencies. This position will offer flexibility for primarily remote work schedules with approximately 20% travel (potentially more if located outside of the DC Metro area). Responsibilities Develop and execute a growth strategy that targets DOS, DFC and other US Government (USG) agencies to achieve the company's goals for revenue, margin and growth. Develop, maintain and build a strong professional network and customer relationships with key clients to understand priority USG challenges, share AECOM capabilities, and identify new business opportunities. Build successful business relationships by delivering a value proposition that is attractive to both customers and prospective business partners. Oversee business development activities and support specific capture efforts related to infrastructure development, development finance, economic growth, and disaster response, and humanitarian assistance. Coordinates company resources across business lines and geographies in the pursuit and capture of new work. Support the development of capture plans for specific targets that address opportunities, preferred approaches, competitive analyses and business fundamentals. Engage company technical experts and operations personnel to develop solutions to customer challenges. Assist with identification of teaming partners and negotiation of teaming agreements in line with appropriate internal support and approvals that result in favorable financial outcomes. Coordinate with regional and business line leaders within operations functions in developing proposals and obtain necessary operational and regional approvals for all proposals prior to their submittal. Minimum Requirements BA / BS in Economics, Environmental Science, Engineering, Finance, International Affairs, or similar, plus at least 12 years of relevant experience in business development in international infrastructure, energy, finance, or economic growth, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education, including at least 4 years of leadership experience. Experience in the management of USG-funded programs and knowledge of USG contracting procedures and protocols. Effective Communication: Demonstrates exceptional verbal and written communication skills to convey ideas clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences. Problem-Solving Expertise: Excels at analyzing complex challenges and developing innovative, actionable solutions to achieve objectives. Advanced Presentation Skills: Skilled in crafting and delivering impactful presentations that effectively communicate value propositions and drive engagement. Strategic Prospect Identification: Proficient in identifying and targeting prospects that align with the organization's strategic goals and adapt to dynamic market conditions. Proven Business Development Success: Consistently achieves measurable success in capturing business opportunities and securing new contracts, contributing to organizational growth. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree USAID, Department of State, Development Finance Corporation, Millenium Challenge Corporation, or other USG agency experience Additional Information Relocation assistance is not available for this position Sponsorship for US work authorization is not available for this position, now or in the future Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
