CompensationBase pay range: $200,000.00/yr - $300,000.00/yrAdditional compensation types: Annual Bonus and Stock optionsOverviewOur client is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee all financial, accounting, compliance, and operational functions of the firm. The position will serve as a key partner to the Managing Director, helping shape fund strategy, ensuring robust controls, managing investor reporting, and driving operational excellence across fund entities. The role requires a proactive, adaptable leader who excels in small‑team environments, with a strong skill set in collaboration, leadership, and training, and a readiness to take on cross‑functional responsibilities to support growth and compliance.The RoleThe following responsibilities illustrate the core duties of the CFO role for the client fund and related entities.Key Job DutiesInvestor Relations SupportLead quarterly reporting and annual investor reporting, including financial statements, portfolio updates, and fund performance metrics (Gross/Net IRR, MOIC, TVPI, DPI)Support fundraising efforts with financial modeling, DDQ responses, and diligence across legal, compliance, audit, and taxWork closely with legal and compliance to ensure investor communications and marketing materials are consistent and compliantBuild and implement standard operating procedures addressing investor inquiries in a timely and methodical mannerFund Finance and OperationsOversee all accounting, financial reporting, and audits for all fund entitiesManage external fund administrator and ensure timely quarterly reporting, capital calls, and distribution noticesCoordinate annual audits, tax filings, and compliance in accordance with applicable requirementsOversee treasury management, capital planning, and banking relationships. Ensure compliance with LPAs, side letters, and investor reporting obligationsCompliance and Risk ManagementPartner with outsourced Chief Compliance Officer and Head of Investor Relations to maintain SEC registration and internal compliance programEnsure robust internal controls, valuation committee processes, and adherence to fair market value accounting standardsMonitor fund leverage / credit lines and covenant complianceLeadership and StrategyManage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for the management company and related entitiesBuild and mentor a high‑performing finance and operations teamServe as a strategic advisor to the Managing Director on long‑term capital planning and firm growthLead technology, systems, and process improvements to support scale and lead efforts in continuous improvement, iteration, and innovationQualifications8+ years of experience in accounting and finance for venture capital, private equity or other alternative investment firmsExperience as CFO or senior accounting/finance leadership at a venture capital, private equity or other alternative investment firmExperience dealing with LPs, auditors, and regulatorsExperience managing funds with a large number of portfolio companies (100+ ideally)CPA, CFA, or MBA strongly preferredDeep knowledge of venture capital fund mechanicsStrong command of fund accounting principles (US GAAP, ASC 820) and regulatory / fiduciary frameworksExcellent communication skills to interface with LPs, auditors, and regulatorsSeniority levelDirectorEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionFinanceIndustriesVenture Capital and Private Equity PrincipalsGreat benefits and equity! #J-18808-Ljbffr
