OverviewVice President of IT at Spheros Environmental. Location: Flexible (Hybrid or 100% Remote, Approved States). Compensation: $150,000 - $200,000 annually (negotiable based on experience).Spheros Environmental, a leading environmental consulting firm, seeks a dynamic Vice President of IT to lead technology strategy, operations, and innovation. The VP of IT will oversee all aspects of IT, including cloud and on-premises infrastructure, cybersecurity, enterprise systems, and customer-facing platforms. This role requires a balance of strategic vision and hands-on expertise across a wide array of technologies, ensuring our systems are secure, scalable, and aligned with business goals.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute the firm’s IT strategy to support growth, client engagement, and operational excellence.Lead IT teams in managing hybrid infrastructure across Azure, AWS, GCP, on-premises, and virtualized environments.Oversee system administration, server and storage management, operating system support (Windows, Linux, macOS, Android/iOS), and gold image maintenance.Ensure enterprise-grade security, including identity management, endpoint protection, patch management, vulnerability scanning, and EDR/MDR solutions.Manage enterprise communication and collaboration platforms including Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Exchange, SharePoint, and Intune.Establish IT policies, compliance programs, and governance aligned with ITIL best practices and relevant regulatory standards.Support business operations with robust CRM, SQL/Snowflake/Power BI, and API/middleware integrations.Oversee networking, telephony, domains, DNS, and backup/recovery solutions.Drive automation and efficiencies through scripting (PowerShell, Python) and system provisioning/deployment.Partner with senior leadership on customer-facing systems to enhance digital services and client experience.Ensure technology documentation, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning are current and effective.Provide executive reporting on IT performance, risks, compliance, and technology innovation opportunities.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred).12+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, with at least 5 years in an executive-level role.Proven expertise across cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP), hybrid, and on-prem infrastructure.Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, compliance standards, and ITIL practices.Hands-on technical skills in Microsoft 365 administration, scripting, databases, CRM, and reporting platforms.Demonstrated success in system migrations, enterprise integrations, and IT modernization initiatives.Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical solutions into business outcomes.Experience leading IT in a professional services, AEC (architecture, engineering, consulting), or environmental consulting firm preferred.Why Spheros Environmental?Impactful Work: Drive technology innovation for projects that shape sustainable water and environmental solutions.Leadership Opportunity: Join the senior leadership team and shape the future of IT strategy in a growing consulting firm.Flexibility: Hybrid work options and flexible scheduling to support work-life clusive Culture: We are an employer that values diversity and fosters collaboration.Apply today!
