The Boeing Company is looking for a Mid-Level or Senior Software Engineer to join the High Fidelity Virtual Cab (HFVC) team based in Seal Beach, California. This role will lead the development and integration of airplane models, simulations and hardware emulations using high fidelity Unreal game engine visualizations of Boeing aircraft and flight decks.Position DetailsThis is a virtual opportunity and does not require relocation. A technical assessment is part of the selection process.ResponsibilitiesLeads the design, architecture, and development of simulation models, visualization, virtual environments, and frameworks to enhance test performance, safety, and durability of software and hardware systems across the product lifecycle.Partners with stakeholders to review and identify simulation requirements and dynamics of the systems being simulated.Leads the design, modeling, simulation, testing, and analysis to assess and optimize overall system performance and capabilities.Leads validation, verification, and refinement of simulation software code, models, simulations, test procedures and environments, executing tests and documenting results against real-world data or benchmarks.Leads documentation and maintenance of technical code, algorithms, specifications, and descriptions of simulation models.Partners with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate simulation software with hardware devices and systems.Leads implementing current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and methods in the software engineering simulation environment.QualificationsBasic Qualifications (Required)5+ years of experience in C/C++ programming5+ years of experience with Linux, Windows, Microsoft Azure, AWS5+ years of experience using GitLab and/or JiraPreferred Qualifications (Desired)Bachelor of Science in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science10+ years of related work experience or equivalent5+ years of scripting with Perl or PythonExperience with aircraft training systems or modeling and simulation projectsKnowledge of API design, real-time software architectures, and related tools and environmentsExperience with cloud architecture, containerization, and networking conceptsAbility to derive and allocate requirements with traceability across the product lifecycleExperience with software testing processes, graphics/visualization concepts, and integration of hardware and software componentsTravel10%Working Conditions and BenefitsDrug Free Workplace: post-offer applicants and employees are subject to testing as outlined in Boeing policies.Total Rewards package includes competitive base pay and variable compensation, and a range of benefits (health insurance, FSA/HSA, retirement plans, life and disability insurance, and paid/unpaid time off).
