The team-member is regularly required to talk or hear, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, and feel, and reach with hands and arms. The team-member is frequently required to perform rigorous physical labor; sit; climb different types of structures (wood, steel, etc.); balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Frequently lift or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.Work EnvironmentTeam-members may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. They may be exposed to extreme conditions at construction job sites. Noise levels can be loud. Powerline construction work is performed outside and subject to diverse weather conditions.Auto req ID455485BRMinimum Education RequiredHigh School/GEDJob CategoryOperationsAdditional Qualifications/ResponsibilitiesGeneral Expectations:Able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License permit within 60 days of employment.Able to read/write and communicate effectively.Able to travel long distances on short notice, when required.Able to work for extended periods in various locations, when required.Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.Willing to work overtime and outside of normal schedules including weekends and holidays as required.Functions To Be Expected In Overhead Powerline ConstructionWork safely while performing new construction, maintenance, or repair work on energized and de-energized overhead spect rubber goods and PPE; wear PPE as required.Understand proper use of company radio; basic rigging, hand lines, and lineman knot tying.Strings overhead wire; sets poles and anchors; assists with installing transformers, arrestors, cutouts, cross-arms, insulators, switches and switchgear.Assists in replacing fuses in transformers and clears faulted circuits and systems.Work with energized high voltage systems; protect yourself and others.Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good working order.Able to perform rigorous physical labor; understand minimum approach distance; understand excavation and shoring requirements.Capable of working at heights and/or confined spaces; use Kellum grips; identify materials used in line work; check voltage on transformers; install and remove a service.Able to climb different structures (wood, steel, etc.) and carry necessary tools.Understand basic concepts of equipment setup and grounding.Must be able to identify different types of materials used in line work and work outside, frequently in inclement weather.LocationCity: Gadsden, State: AlabamaJob CodeOperations SpecialistAffiliate SponsorPIKE #J-18808-Ljbffr
