OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Manager (Partner track) to join our client’s office in Troy, Michigan. As a pivotal member of the team, the Tax Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing various aspects of the accounting operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to contribute their expertise and leadership skills in a dynamic and collaborative environment.What’s in it for you?Competitive salary based on experience, along with 401k matchingHealth insurance, and paid time offCommitment to fostering professional development and growth opportunities at all levels, supported by a culture that values and encourages open communicationPositive working environment that promotes work-life balanceResponsibilitiesProvide strong leadership and guidance to accounting teams, and staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work culture.Serve as a primary point of contact for key client accounts, maintaining strong relationships and addressing client needs effectively.Oversee financial statement preparation, analysis, and reporting, ensuring accuracy and adherence to GAAP standards.Prepare and file federal and state tax returns for individuals, families, and small businesses.Collect and organize financial data from clients, including income statements, receipts, and relevant documentation.Review clients' tax documents to ensure accuracy and compliance with the IRS and Michigan state regulations.Assist clients in understanding their tax situation, offering tax planning/advice and guidance on deductions, credits, and exemptions.Stay updated on Michigan and federal tax law changes and incorporate these updates into tax preparation practices.Identify potential tax-saving opportunities for clients and advise them on strategies for optimizing tax returns.Respond to client inquiries regarding tax issues, providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive experience.Work closely with other team members to maintain accurate records and meet filing deadlines.Mentor and coach team members, providing guidance on professional development and fostering a culture of continuous learning.Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency enhancements within accounting operations, implementing best practices as needed.Collaborate effectively with partners, colleagues, and other departments to achieve firm objectives and deliver exceptional client service.Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and recognize outstanding contributions from team members.Professional Development - Stay current with industry trends, developments, and best practices through ongoing professional development and training initiatives.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification is required.Extensive experience (5+ years) in public accounting, with a focus on audit, tax, or advisory services.
