OverviewExecutive Director, College Foundation and Community Relations – North Orange County Community College DistrictResponsibilitiesIdentifies and cultivates individual, corporate and organization fundraising prospects; conducts major and planned gift solicitations.Directs major fundraising events; manages the annual giving program and the scholarship solicitation and awards programs.Coordinates alumni activities.Coordinates community outreach/relations activities with the college Director of Campus Communications to enhance the visibility of the college and the Foundation and maintain an effective public information program.Prepares strategic and annual operating plans for the Foundation; prepares an annual budget to support the fundraising programs.Assures compliance with all pertinent federal, state and local laws, relevant contractual obligations, and recognized reporting standards applicable to fundraising.Monitors Foundation assets in cooperation with the Foundation Board, College President, and Vice President of Administrative Services; exercises appropriate fiduciary oversight of trust agreements, gift acceptance and investment policies.Develops, prepares and maintains a variety of detailed and comprehensive reports, records, and files related to Foundation operations.Works with legal counsel, investment, fundraising, research, communications and other consultants as directed in the planning and execution of Foundation development and alumni anizes, attends, or chairs a variety of administrative and staff meetings as required; serves on committees and special projects as directed; coordinates programs and services as appropriate with other District and college personnel.Trains, supervises, evaluates and directs the work of personnel as assigned; participates in selection and hiring processes.Plans, organizes and arranges appropriate training and staff development activities; provides orientation for new employees.Learns and applies emerging technologies and advances to perform duties efficiently and timely.Provide leadership in District/College efforts to increase the diversity of faculty and staff, address student achievement gaps, and create a welcoming and inclusive work and educational environment.Assist and promote the growth and success of a diverse population of students and employees through interculturally competent and equity-minded management and leadership abilities. Experience with African Americans, Latinx, Native Americans, Pacific Islanders and other disproportionately impacted students and employees is desirable.Perform related duties as assigned.QualificationsMinimum QualificationsPossession of a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.A minimum of three years of successful fundraising, institutional development, entrepreneurial or management/supervisory experience, or a combination of these relevant to the mitment to diversity. Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of diverse backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff, and ability to relate to achieving the goals of the position.Desirable QualificationsMaster’s degree or higher from an accredited pletion of fundraising certificate program or National Society of Fundraising Executives accreditation.Demonstrated record of successful, creative fundraising projects, preferably in a college setting.Experience in community relations/public affairs/public relations/public information.Experience in developing and managing a capital campaign.Knowledge of marginalized populations and demonstrated outcomes in advancing their needs.Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, investment oversight, compliance and auditing procedures.Experience in board relations and adherence to college shared governance procedures.Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.Experience coordinating the work of a small team and knowledge of the Collective Bargaining Unit, as appropriate.Experience planning ahead, establishing priorities, and meeting deadlines.Ability to maintain effective working relationships with diverse administrators, faculty, students, and community members.Equity-minded approach to work and interactions with colleagues and/or students.Working ConditionsOffice environment; subject to interruptions and frequent interaction with others; may require off-site duties and pensation and TermsSalary Range: $148,032 - $186,737 AnnuallyOpen Date: 09/12/2025Close Date: 10/17/2025Additional InformationWork Schedule: District employees may apply for the Flexible/Hybrid Work Program. This position is grant funded and exists based on the availability of funds. Employment is contingent upon the continuous availability of funds. This is a designated classified management position with a six month probationary period. Initial salary placement is determined by Human Resources and is not negotiable. You may need to provide official transcripts prior to the first duty day and will need to provide identification and employment eligibility as outlined in the Immigration Reform and Control Act. NOCCCD will not sponsor visas. The District may fill one or more positions from this recruitment within eight months. For questions, do not submit materials beyond those requested. The minimum number of references is three and will be requested at the finalist/offer phase. All applications are screened with confidentiality. A second interview may be required for finalists. Minimum Qualifications – Experience: one year of experience equals 12 months at a maximum of 40 hours per week. Minimum Qualifications – Education: 24 units equal one year of education.
