The ideal candidate will have expertise in leading business group for bridge, retaining wall, and box culvert design. This role plays a key role across JT's municipal, transportation, and site development groups.Visit our website to learn about our people, culture, and community impact.Job ResponsibilitiesDeveloping, implementing, and tracking a business plan for the structures group that supports JT’s growthCoordinating long-term strategic pursuitsCommunicating directly with clients to ensure satisfaction and retentionDetermining staffing needs, assisting in the recruitment and retention of staffWorking with executive team to coordinate service line plan alignment with company goalsWorking with internal staff to ensure projects meet established deadlines, specifications, budgets, and client expectationsSuccession planning for all service line staff/positionsManaging, mentoring, and assisting staff with individual developmentResponsible for developing and managing overall service line budget, including:Oversight/tracking of all project budgets/profitabilityCompany/service line overhead (including coordination across service lines)Review/approval of contracts and proposalsIdentify capital purchases and software needsCoordination and approval of staff trainingMarketing/Business DevelopmentTracking and forecasting service line backlogOversight/tracking of all service line project schedulesJob RequirementsA Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university with 12+ years of experience in structural engineeringA Professional Engineer (PE) License in the State of Wisconsin or ability to obtain PEExperience managing structural engineering design projects and design staffKnowledge of Federal, State, and local regulations and permittingStrong verbal and written communication skillsSolid organizational and time management skillsTo be self-disciplined/motivated who also works well in a team environmentA valid driver's license and reliable transportation to worksites, meetings with clients, and attend conferencesTo be legally authorized to work permanently (i.e., without time limitations, restrictions, or need for work sponsorship) in the country where this position is locatedTo occasionally travel out-of-town and overnight for professional development and/or project-related workLife at JT: The Benefits and PerksOur benefits and perks are top-notch.
