OverviewCandlewood Suites Norfolk Airport - Assistant General Manager OEMJoin Our Team as an Assistant General Manager! As our Assistant General Manager, you will be a key player in ensuring guest satisfaction and the efficient operation of our hotel. In the absence of the General Manager, you'll supervise various departments and focus on achieving hotel profitability through revenue generation, cost control, and the development of associates. Our ideal candidate is a natural leader with excellent problem-solving and communication skills, committed to maintaining high standards and supporting hotel operations.This position is an overtime eligible manager (OEM); overtime does apply and is calculated accordingly.ResponsibilitiesLeadership: Supervise operating departments and assist in achieving hotel profitability through effective management and support of the General Manager.Problem-Solving: Anticipate and address workplace issues proactively to ensure smooth and efficient operations.Hiring & Training: Assist the General Manager in overseeing the recruitment, hiring, and training of Guest Services staff, ensuring ongoing training across all departments in service standards. Support development of managerial and hourly employees through corporate-approved munication: Listen to, understand, and resolve concerns from co-workers and guests, maintaining clear and open communication.Financial Acumen: Understand financial information and data, and perform basic arithmetic to support hotel operations.Technical Proficiency: Utilize Windows operating systems for effective management and anizational Skills: Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations.Customer Service: Interact with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, service-oriented manner to ensure high satisfaction.Education & ExperienceAt least 5 years of progressive experience in Rooms or F&B in a hotel, or a 4-year college degree with 2-3 years of related experience, or a 2-year college degree with 3-4 years of related experience.Previous supervisory experience required.Ability to handle stressful, high-pressure situations with composure and pliance with certification requirements may include Food Handlers, Alcohol Awareness, CPR and First Aid.BenefitsMedical, Dental, and Vision CoverageShort-Term and Long-Term Disability IncomeTerm Life and AD&D InsurancePaid Time OffEmployee Assistance Program401k Retirement PlanNow offering Daily PayLocation: Norfolk, VASalary: $95,000 - $115,000Employment typeFull-timeJob functionManagementOperationsIndustriesHospitality #J-18808-Ljbffr
