The current vacancy is in the Urban Forestry Unit and will staff the tree planting and young tree care team. The City of Berkeley plants, waters, and establishes up to 1,000 trees each year. This recruitment will also create an eligibility list that may be used to staff the Landscape Maintenance Unit.See the full job class specification here: QualificationsA typical way of gaining the knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position isEquivalent to graduation from high school and two (2) years experience in landscape maintenance work, similar to that described in the job classification. Possession of an AA degree in horticulture or a closely related field may be substituted for the required experience.Other RequirementsMust possess a valid California driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record.
