OverviewAssociate Attorney - Business Litigation (CT) at Harris Beach Murtha. Hybrid remote opportunity: open to offices in Hartford, New Haven, Stamford, CT.ResponsibilitiesRepresent clients in courtroom and mediation/arbitration proceedingsTake and defend depositionsResearch various factual and legal issues and collaborate with senior attorneys about strategiesDraft memoranda, pleadings, discovery demands and responses, motions, briefs, etc.Examination of records and transactions underlying business disputes and investigations as to potential client claimsCommitment to working in a variety of commercial litigation practice areasCollaborate with colleagues across departments to provide comprehensive legal support to our clientsThe firm requires a minimum of 1800 billable hours annuallyQualifications4-7+ years’ experience in litigation requiredExperience in complex commercial litigation and/or bankruptcy preferredAdmission to Connecticut bar requiredAdmission to New York and/or Massachusetts bar preferredExperience with Connecticut State Court and Federal Court practice requiredFederal or state judicial clerkship experience preferredJuris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school and active membership in good standing of the barExcellent research and writing skills; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writingAbility to function in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentStrong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workloadProfessional, cooperative, positive, and flexible attitude; ability to work with diverse personalitiesMilitary experience welcomeEEO statement: Harris Beach Murtha is committed to an inclusive environment and is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
