As our dedicated Claims Manager in our Property & Casualty Department, you will guide clients through some of their most critical moments- offering clarity, advocacy, and confidence when it's needed most. This is more than a technical role; it’s a client-facing position rooted in service and strategy. You will be the steady presence that helps nonprofit organizations navigate the claims process with professionalism, transparency, and efficiency.ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary claims consultant for commercial P&C accountsRespond to all claims-related inquiries within 24 hoursDetermine appropriate carriers to be notified and what steps follow—either independently or in collaboration with the teamFacilitate first notice of loss or empower clients with guidance for direct reportingUse our agency management system (Applied Epic) to maintain real-time claim statusSet and track tasks to manage claim progressCollaborate with Account Managers and Producers to communicate risksCollaborate with Account Managers and Producers to expose coverage gapsCollaborate with Account Managers and Producers to address potential impact on upcoming renewalsProvide loss-run reports as neededReport coverage omissions and anomalies to internal teamsCreate claims kit templates to educate clients and streamline complianceAssist with experience modification factor estimates and analysisPerform other related duties as assignedYou will thrive in this role if you areCalm under pressure and emotionally intelligentDiplomatic and persuasive, with a service-first mindsetOrganized, curious, and able to manage multiple moving partsA confident communicator—especially when delivering difficult updatesPassionate about being of service to mission-driven organizationsRequirements3–5+ years of commercial property & casualty claims experienceAbility to interpret insurance coverage forms, follow carrier practices and reporting requirementsProficiency with agency management systems (Applied Epic preferred)Strong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to build rapport, establish integrity and develop strong relationships with carriers and clientsAbility to balance advocacy with professional boundaries and business needsWhy CNIS?We’ve been serving California’s nonprofit community for over 40 years with tailored insurance solutions and a heart for mission-driven work.
