OverviewThe Senior Counsel will report directly to the VP General Counsel and will work with the General Counsel team to coordinate the work of the legal team. The Senior Counsel will provide legal advice, analysis and recommendations on general corporate legal issues. Act as a trusted counselor and attorney providing support to CMSU, NXC and CMRU on all legal and compliance matters.ResponsibilitiesManage litigation matters handled by outside counsel.Draft and review company policies and procedures concerning legal compliance.Assist with due diligence on all legal aspects of mergers and acquisitions.Provide legal advice to Canon employees on various areas of law.Review, draft, and negotiate customer and vendor contracts.Create and conduct training in various legal and compliance matters.Review documents for accuracy and ensure that they conform to legal requirements.Conduct legal research on issues impacting the company.Meet with internal customers to discuss their legal issues.QualificationsAbility to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.Strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and strong analytical skills.Excellent written document drafting and oral communication proficiency.Adept at handling complex contract negotiations.Presentation anizational skills.Knowledge of all aspects of employment law, including without limitation, laws governing termination, benefits, and leaves of absence.Knowledge of healthcare laws (Federal Anti-kickback regulations, HIPAA, Open Payments Act).Team player who can effectively interact with the various departments of CMSU and CMRU.Law Degree; licensed attorney in the United States.Must be a member of the State Bar.3 years practice as an attorney, preferably with a medical device or medical imaging company; 5 years highly preferred.Pay information: Min. salary of $130,000 to Max. $209,000 (annual equivalency) plus incentives, DOE.BenefitsCanon Medical Systems USA, Inc., a world leader in diagnostic imaging, is in search of qualified candidates to fill our open positions.
