General Facility Maintenance Technician

Position Summary/Objective The General Facility Maintenance Technician's core responsibilities are to manage maintenance requests for several residential and commercial properties, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, building maintenance and landscaping. Primary Duties and Responsibilities * Light HVAC, carpentry, landscaping, plumbing and electrical repairs. * HVAC - troubleshooting equipment. * Carpentry - able to handle basic repairs around buildings. * General Landscaping - trim greenery, rake and cleanup as needed. * Plumbing - knowledge to address leaks, clogs and/or other drainage problems. * Assist team with snow removal as needed. * Pressure washing siding and decks as scheduled and needed. * Light patching and painting. * Mechanical and appliance troubleshooting and repairs. * Ability to escalate and communicate issues that require vendor repair. * Proficient in diagnosing issues and finding effective solutions, inc. communicating parts needed, etc. * Required to provide own set of hand tools. * Power tools will be provided. Essential Skills and Experiences * Knowledgeable in general mechanical maintenance. * Professional and interpersonal skills to interact with employees and/or residents of the building(s) in a pleasant manner. * Attention to detail and follow through to ensure that jobs are completed in a timely manner and to make sure that potential hazards or warning signs are not overlooked. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work * 8-hour shift * Monday to Friday * Weekends/Emergency repairs as needed Supervisor Responsibility * This position has no direct supervisor responsibilities. Qualifications and Education Requirements * High School Diploma or GED required. * Must possess a valid driver's license. * Have and maintain a clean driving record. * Minimum of 2 years of general facility maintenance. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 - Outlook. Workplace Environment Environmental & Working Conditions: This position works primarily in residential and/commercial spaces. Reports to main office at start of shift for job tasks to be completed. Manual Duties/Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs., sit and stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, bend, reach overhead, kneel and balance to meet the physical requirements of this position. Work is often done in a time-sensitive and demanding environment. There are often important deadlines and the requirement to coordinate work on multiple complex assignments at the same time.
