Position Type: Custodial and Maintenance/Maintenance Date Posted: 9/23/2025 Location: District Wide Date Available: 10/06/2025 Closing Date: 09/30/2025   Additional Information: Show/Hide Begins: October 6, 2025 8 Hours per Day, 260 Days per Year $53,491 - $55,646 per year TITLE OUTSIDE MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN QUALIFICATIONS: * High school diploma or general education development certificate (GED), required. * Valid MN driver's license. * Technical school certification in trades, preferred; equivalent trades experience required. * Demonstrated mechanical aptitude in using, maintaining, and repairing grounds equipment. * Knowledge of and ability to follow and enforce safety procedures, practices, and regulations. * Demonstrated knowledge and experience with grounds and athletic field maintenance and care and maintenance of landscape plants and trees. * Knowledge and basic skills related to electrical repair, plumbing, carpentry, welding, and general maintenance tasks. * Experience with personal computers and software and the ability to learn district systems. * Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force. * Ability to work outside in extreme conditions. * Demonstrated customer and human relations skills. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Strong organizational skills. * Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable. REPORTS TO: Lead Outside Maintenance Technician JOB GOALS: To maintain the exterior of district facilities, fields, and grounds in a condition of operating excellence, operating efficiency, cleanliness, and safety so that full educational and recreational use of the facilities may be made at all times. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: * Responsible for the overall maintenance and condition of all grounds, landscaping, parking lots, and athletic facilities. * Responds to requests for maintenance in a timely and professional manner. * Assists the Lead Outside Maintenance Technician with equipment maintenance and repair. * Ensures fields and grounds are ready for scheduled activities. * Assists in non-HVAC repairs such as, but not limited to, carpentry, painting, door hardware and plumbing. * Complies with health and safety codes, to include Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards to ensure safe and healthy working conditions. * Submits and completes online work requests in a complete and timely manner. * Ensures that all equipment is well maintained and ready for use. * Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Note -Terms used in this section are defined as follows: Rarely: 1 to 10%; Occasionally: 11 to 33%; Frequently: 34 to 66%; and Continuously: 67 to 100% of the workday.
