JOB DUTIESMens Design Director - RVCAThe Mens Design Director is the vision behind the brands apparel collections, blending creativity with an understanding of the target consumers lifestyle and the evolving fashion landscape. The Mens Design Director sets the aesthetic direction for seasonal assortments, collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure commercial viability, and drives innovation in design and fabrication. By guiding the design team, closely monitoring market trends, and working with cross-functional partners, the Mens Design Director ensures each collection delivers authenticity, style, and competitive relevance.Key DutiesCreative Leadership:Define and lead the creative vision for the mens apparel line, ensuring alignment with brand identity and market trends.Oversee the development of seasonal collections, focusing on innovation, functionality, and style.Team Mangement:Manage and mentor the mens design and merchandising team, fostering collaboration and professional growth.Provide clear direction and feedback to designers, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.Product Development Collaboration:Partner with development, merchandising, and production teams to ensure designs are feasible, sku productivity optimized and products meets margin requirements.Oversee the creation of seasonal development calendars, tech packs, fabric selections, and prototypes to align with the design intent.Market Research & Trend Analysis:Conduct regular market research to stay ahead of industry trends, consumer preferences, and competitor tegrate feedback from athletes, retailers, and customers to refine the mens product line.Presentation & Storytelling:Present collections to leadership, sales teams, and key accounts, articulating the inspiration and story behind each line.Collaborate with marketing on visuals, campaigns, and storytelling.SkillsExceptional creative vision and ability to define a cohesive aesthetic.Strong leadership, team building, and mentorship -depth understanding of mens fashion trends, market dynamics, and consumer preferences.Proficiency in design software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop) and garment construction.Strong communication skills to convey design concepts and direction to cross-functional teams.Ability to work within budget and timeline constraints while maintaining design integrity.QualificationsBachelors degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, or a related field.7+ years of experience in apparel design, with a minimum of 3-5 years in a leadership role.Proven track record of successfully directing seasonal collections for mens products.Experience collaborating with merchandising, product development, and production teams.
