Job Title:Vice President, Clinical OperationsLocation:Boston, MA (Hybrid) Company Size:Small-to-Mid-Sized Biopharmaceutical Company Therapeutic Areas:Immunotherapies & OncologyAbout the Company: The client is an innovative, fast-growing SME biopharmaceutical company based in Boston, focused on developing next-generation immunotherapies and oncology treatments. With a collaborative, mission-driven culture, the company is advancing a pipeline designed to transform outcomes for patients with cancer and immune-mediated diseases.Position Overview: The client is seeking a Vice President of Clinical Operations to assume a senior leadership role overseeing all aspects of clinical trial execution across their oncology and immunotherapy programs. This executive will be responsible for building and scaling the Clinical Operations function, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, timely, and cost-effective clinical studies. The VP will play a key role in shaping clinical strategy, leading teams, managing vendors, and advancing the pipeline through early-stage and pivotal trials.Key Responsibilities: Provide strategic and operational leadership for all clinical operations activities across oncology and immunotherapy trials. Oversee planning, initiation, and execution of Phase I–III studies in alignment with corporate strategy and regulatory standards. Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing Clinical Operations team. Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders (Clinical Development, Regulatory, Biometrics, CMC, Medical Affairs). Lead vendor selection, contract negotiations, and budget management. Develop and refine operational processes, SOPs, and quality systems. Represent Clinical Operations at the executive level and provide updates on portfolio progress, risks, and mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with ICH-GCP, FDA, EMA, and other global regulatory requirements.Qualifications: Advanced degree in life sciences (MS, PharmD, PhD, MD, or equivalent preferred). 15+ years of progressive clinical operations experience within biotech/pharma, including significant experience in oncology and/or immunotherapies. Proven track record of leading trials from early development through pivotal studies and regulatory submissions. Leadership experience at VP or senior director level in an SME/biotech environment strongly preferred. Expertise in vendor oversight, budgets, and CRO management. Deep knowledge of ICH-GCP and global regulatory requirements. Strong leadership skills, both strategic and hands-on.
