The ideal candidate will complete surveying tasks in the field using traditional survey equipment on a variety of different projects under the supervision of our licensed land surveying team members. This role will be on a variable schedule and requires hands-on experience with engineering instruments and knowledge of GPS and GIS systems. To succeed as a senior survey crew chief, you should also have great mathematical and analytical skills, and a good eye for measurements. The work environment is remote and flexible; however, the candidate must be based in Southern California and available for regular field work.Conduct surveys on land sites and propertiesExamine previous records and evidence to ensure data accuracyResearch and design methods for survey processesUse equipment and tools to accurately measure land features (e.g. longitudes, latitudes)Report on survey results and present findings to clientsWorking knowledge of GPS and GIS~ Must possess a valid driver’s license and have active personal automobile liability insurance by first day of employmentTech savvy, including familiarity with CAD softwareThis job operates in a remote or office-based environment and this role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, etc.This job requires occasional project site visits, based outdoors which can include excessive noise, uneven walking surfaces, extreme weather, and moving vehicles and equipment.Working on a computer, sitting, or standing for long periods of time in an office or remote office setting.This job requires attending meetings, both in person and virtually as well as speaking on the phone with government agency representatives, members of the public, and others.
