Title: Assistant Property ManagerJob Type: Full-time Location: Onsite from Brighton, MA FLSA Status: ExemptPosition SummaryThe Assistant Property Manager reports to the Director of Property Management and is responsible for the day-to-day business operations, maintenance, and tenant relations for 215,000 square feet of mixed-use space across seven buildings on a nine-acre campus in Boston, MA. This role ensures the smooth operation, safety, and compliance of the facilities while supporting tenant engagement and efficient property management processes. The Assistant Property Manager collaborates closely with finance, security, facilities, and community partners to implement operational plans and contribute to Brighton Marine’s mission of providing high-quality services to veterans and their families.Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial & Lease Administration Collect and process rent payments, subsidies, and billing inquiries in partnership with the finance team. Track lease expirations, renewals, and adjustments; ensure accurate documentation and reporting. Review and code property-related invoices for approval, supporting budget tracking and financial reporting. Facility & Operations Management Execute daily property operations to ensure buildings, residential units, and commercial spaces are properly maintained and operational. Conduct regular inspections and coordinate with the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to resolve maintenance issues. Ensure operational compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and maintenance procedures. Manage systems such as work orders, key control, security access, and conference room reservations. Support vendor coordination (janitorial, landscaping, repairs), ensuring service delivery and adherence to contracts Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management Support compliance with housing and building regulations, including HUD VASH and affordable housing requirements. Assist in property safety monitoring and emergency preparedness implementation. Organizational Support Assist with Yardi property management system updates and troubleshooting, with a focus on data accuracy and reporting. Manage logistics for campus amenities (e.g., parking, fitness center, cafeteria). Support capital improvement projects and sustainability initiatives as directed.QualificationsEducation & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Property Management, Real Estate, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. Minimum 5+ years of experience in customer relations, property management, facilities coordination, or real estate operations. Experience with commercial business contracts, residential leasing, tenant/client services, and maintenance coordination. Skills & Competencies Excellent communication skills and interpersonal ability to work with tenants, vendors, and internal teams. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with property and business operations, lease workflows, and compliance procedures. Proficiency in a CRM, Yardi or other property management software, Microsoft Office, and invoice tracking systems.
