What you’ll do here As a Sr Engineering Manager / Technology Lead in our Product Technology and Innovation organization, you will lead technology teams in the Internal Operations business unit, including Content Systems, Content workflows, and Content AI platforms. You will build and lead remote software engineering organizations using agile principles to architect and deliver high-availability enterprise software. You will partner with product and design teams and lead through data-driven insights, focusing on customer outcomes and measurable improvements in user engagement. You will divide time between team management and product development responsibilities, leading multiple software development teams for content workflow automation, application development, and platform support. You will collaborate with other technology and product leads to guide agile teams in a multi-functional, agile environment, using situational leadership to balance leading and contributing as appropriate. Responsibilities Adopt agile methodologies and a customer-centric product model to drive iterative development, continuous improvement, and rapid time-to-market. Define user stories, prioritize backlog items, and ensure timely, high-quality releases. Communicate clearly across product teams, technology teams, learning designers, interface designers, and domain authorities across the organization. Engage with product partners, customers, and other technologists to understand content, learning, and technology needs; provide guidance on technology solution options. Monitor product performance, analyze data, gather user feedback, and iterate to improve the product. Conduct post-release evaluations, retrospectives, and A/B testing. Design, architect, and implement new features with ownership of development, delivering products that scale to support millions of customers. Ensure customers experience reliable, high-performing platforms available 24/7. Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends and integrate relevant advancements into product roadmaps. Cultivate a high-performance, transparent culture focused on accountability and results. Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and recent, relevant work experience. 5+ years of technology leadership experience, including developing technology strategies, fostering innovation, and leading distributed teams across multiple time zones. Generative AI & Emerging Technologies Working knowledge of generative AI concepts and frameworks (LLMs, multimodal models, prompt engineering, AI agent orchestration, retrieval augmented generation, vector databases). Hands-on experience integrating or experimenting with commercial and open-source GenAI technologies and toolkits (e.g., OpenAI, Hugging Face, LangChain). Familiarity with agentic workflows and AI-enabled automation for applications such as content management, search, personalization, or workflow optimization. Motivation to stay up-to-date with GenAI, MLOps, and digital transformation. Enterprise Architecture & Cloud Platforms Experience modernizing legacy or monolithic architectures, migrating to modular, cloud-native platforms, and implementing hybrid cloud strategies. Ability to design and develop APIs to integrate legacy systems with modern solutions. Experience deploying on public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) including storage, compute, containers, and serverless computing. Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools for automated deployments. Software Engineering & Product Delivery Proven ability to build secure, resilient, scalable, high-availability enterprise systems for global users. Experience implementing and operating CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and code quality practices. Proficiency in agile methodologies with ability to foster high-performing teams and use Jira or Azure DevOps for delivery. Collaboration & Communication Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to partner with cross-functional teams in distributed and remote-first environments. Ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences, including executives and partners. Proficient in project management tools to drive outcomes and alignment. Commitment to continuous improvement for product and engineering culture. Compensation & Equal Opportunity The full base pay range for this position is $117,100.00 to $152,200.00 USD. Individual base pay will vary based on schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and location. Sales roles may include additional incentive compensation beyond the base pay range.
