Ranked among the finest cancer programs in the country, the Section is comprised of nationally and internationally known faculty with expertise in all major types of malignancies, blood disorders, and experimental therapies.Job SummaryThe Drazer Lab is looking for a Staff Scientist who will partner with the Principal Investigator and will serve as the co-leader of a cutting-edge research program focused on the biology of rare blood cancers. The Scientist will help lead a diverse portfolio of research projects that includes developing high-fidelity models of rare blood cancers, tissue engineering studies, 'big data' analyses, and disseminating research products. These products will include papers, presentations, grants, project updates, and documents related to intellectual properties. The scientist will collaborate regularly with the PI (Drazer), junior scientists, and trainees (graduate students, clinical fellows, medical students, and undergraduate students). The scientist will be highly involved in preparing and writing grant applications and reports and will co-author scientific research manuscripts. They will supervise other research staff in tandem with Dr. Drazer.ResponsibilitiesDesigns, develops, and tests experimental protocols for research (including empirical protocols, computational, statistical methods, etc.).Collaborates with other researchers as appropriate.Preparing and writing grant applications and reports, and co-authoring scientific research manuscripts.May supervise other research staff and students.Serves as a resource for collecting data and performing analysis. Facilitates and promotes a research project by providing scientific or intellectual information.Develops laboratory protocols and training on new techniques.
