Job Description Preferred Qualifications: Global Payment and Deposit Solutions (GPDS) builds and transforms the operating model and infrastructure capabilities that support the Payments and Deposit Services of TD Securities. We need innovative, customer-focused professionals with a continuous improvement mindset and strong knowledge of payments and deposits. Position Overview: This is a Business Architect role in the Payment and Deposits Solutions team requiring subject matter expertise in Payment & Deposits product domains and ownership of product capabilities. The candidate will design payment and deposits solutions across the enterprise, translating business challenges into target-state architectures and leading cross-functional projects to meet client needs. Job / Role Responsibilities Strategic Architecture & Design Define and maintain the enterprise payments architecture roadmap to support corporate banking and treasury services. Align payments capabilities (ACH, wires, RTP, SWIFT, card rails, cross-border) with business strategy and client needs. Translate objectives into target-state architectures with scalability, resiliency, and regulatory compliance. Partner with product management to design solutions enabling new payment services, revenue models, and customer experiences. Assess current-state payments processes, systems, and customer journeys to identify gaps and opportunities. Develop future-state models (capabilities, data flows, process maps) for end-to-end payments execution. Ensure alignment with ISO 20022, regulatory mandates, and clearing/settlement requirements. Collaborate with technology teams to design integration patterns for core banking, ERP, treasury, fraud/risk, and liquidity platforms. Drive adoption of modern APIs, microservices, and cloud-based payments solutions. Define architectural guardrails for interoperability, real-time data, and resilience. Monitor industry advancements (blockchain, CBDCs, AI in fraud prevention) for impact on corporate payments. Advise senior leadership on emerging payments trends (real-time payments, open banking, digital currencies). Modern Way Of Working Utilize Agile, Product Owner mindset, Shift Left testing, and tools like Jira, Confluence to drive progress. Stay current on trends and techniques to improve product development and delivery using Design Thinking and Lean Startup methodologies. Contribute to a culture of innovation and capability improvement. People Management Lead and manage team members, overseeing activities and deliverables for diverse business clients. Foster development through mentoring, performance feedback, and career planning. Stakeholder Management Build productive relationships with internal and external partners; communicate project timelines and strategic alignment to senior management. Influence stakeholders and guide teams; manage expectations and collaborate across teams to achieve objectives. Provide performance metrics to relevant stakeholders. Communication & Facilitation Convey complex concepts clearly and transform information into business narratives. Communicate product changes and backlog priorities to stakeholders. Critical Thinking & Problem-Solving Apply critical thinking to address complex challenges; recommend best practices for product and process improvements. Develop innovative solutions through analytical thinking. Education & Experience Undergraduate degree required. 7+ years relevant experience. 3+ years in Project Management, Product Owner, Testing Practices, or Agile delivery. Certifications such as PMP, Agile Certified Practitioner, or CSPO are assets. Payment Domain Knowledge Substantial knowledge of SWIFT messages, ISO20022, MX and MT formats. Deep understanding of payment systems and methods (e.g., Canada Lynx, US CHIPS, FedWire). Knowledge of instant payment rails and related regulatory reporting (AML, EFTR Fintrac, sanction screening). Understanding of deposit sub-ledger capabilities and related operations. Familiarity with Nostro/Vostro concepts and correspondent banking integration. Understanding of TOMs and payment/deposit operating models; experience with data mapping and payment data. Qualifications Proficient in MS Office and tools like Jira and Confluence. Consulting or strategy experience preferred; strong stakeholder management. Experience in Tier 1 banks or financial institutions preferred. Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to work collaboratively and independently. Analytical skills and ability to operate in ambiguity; strong storytelling and documentation skills.
