OverviewJoin Northrop Grumman as a Manager, Software Engineering 2. This is a dual-role technical manager position based in McClellan, CA. The manager will be responsible for leading a team of software engineers while performing technical work on programs, with an expected split of approximately 80% program work / 20% functional management.What You'll Get To DoThis is a dual-role technical manager position. Management duties will require tasking and coordination of approximately 10-15 staff, and process and resource coordination with functional homeroom management. The manager will also be expected to perform technical work on programs. The direct program work may include technical work, IPT leadership, or any other appropriate technical function.As a Member Of Our Team You WillSupporting a team of 10-15 technical staff in a management role. Administrative responsibilities include staffing, performance and compensation management, and career development.Leading program engineering execution for hardware design and deployment projects.Accountable to stakeholders and program managers for status updates, issue resolution, and overall engineering execution.Partnering with program management office to ensure successful execution against cost, schedule and hiring targets.Providing technical leadership and ensuring proper engineering processes and procedures are followed.Working with peers and training leads to identify critical skill shortfalls; developing appropriate technical training; and improving team performance.Debugging existing software tools and supporting implementation of new capabilities.Supporting the development of test platforms within function, cost and schedule constraints.Basic QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 8+ years of experience (or Master’s with 6 years; PhD with 4 years) in a related engineering field.Strong foundational knowledge of Python and C++.U.S. Citizenship required per program requirements.Security clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance per customer requirements.Preferred QualificationsMaster of Science in STEM with 6+ years in a related field.Experience managing teams of 10 or more.Experience working in a lab environment and with testing (unit and integration).Developed software that interfaces with lab hardware and automated tasks.Full life cycle design, implementation, and automated testing of software.Active U.S. government security clearance / US Citizen.What We Can Offer YouNorthrop Grumman provides a comprehensive benefits package and a work environment that supports growth and mutual success. Primary Level Salary Range: $156,500.00 - $234,700.00. This range is a guideline and may vary based on scope, responsibilities, and candidate qualifications.
