Senior Algorithm Developer

OverviewMTSI is seeking a highly skilled Algorithm Developer to join our high-performing team supporting Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis efforts for a new MDA project. The successful candidate will collaborate with engineers and scientists to prototype and implement advanced algorithms and physics-based models for high-fidelity simulations. Responsibilities include exploring and testing algorithms, analyzing performance trends, and identifying shortfalls. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing EO/IR & RF sensor systems, state estimation methods, AI/ML technology, and data fusion.ResponsibilitiesPrototype and implement advanced algorithms and physics-based models for high-fidelity simulation efforts.Explore, test, and analyze algorithms and performance trends; identify shortfalls and improvements.Collaborate with a team of engineers and scientists on modeling, simulation, and analysis objectives.Required QualificationsBachelor/'s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics (Master/'s or PhD preferred)5 years of experience in implementing complex models and algorithms to support engineering and scientific researchProficiency in MATLAB or Python for algorithm development and data analysisStrong proficiency with Linux, including command line and shell scriptingIn-depth knowledge of EO/IR and/or RF sensor systemsExpertise in Kalman filters, Extended Kalman Filters (EKF), and Unscented Kalman Filters (UKF)Excellent communication and teamwork skillsAbility to quickly learn new concepts, multi-task, and adapt to changing prioritiesActive Security Clearance required, Top Secret clearance desired; US citizenship required.Preferred Qualifications12 years of related experienceExperience with Missile Defense SystemsProficiency in C or C++ programming languagesExpertise in EO/IR detection, image processing, tracking, and discriminationExperience with the fusion of EO/IR and RF sensor dataFamiliarity with 6-DOF simulations and/or Kill Vehicle operationsExperience with AFSIM (Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling)Background in machine learning and artificial intelligence applicationsCompany and BenefitsOur co-workers support important national defense and security programs.
