OverviewSenior Data Scientist position for a client in the communications/network industry. Responsibilities focus on leading data-driven solutions for complex business and network challenges, with emphasis on data ingestion, statistical techniques, and machine learning. The role requires prioritizing efforts, synthesizing actionable findings, and presenting insights to audiences with varying technical levels.Base pay range$80.00/hr - $90.00/hrResponsibilitiesPlan and lead the complete analytics life cycle for problem solving, including requirements gathering, problem formulation, data grooming, data exploration, model prototyping, model validation, and algorithm implementation related to WiFi and 5G technologies.Apply advanced analytical and statistical algorithms to help stakeholders explore methods to improve or validate key business cases. Provide options and recommendations during research and analysis phases.Conduct large-scale exploratory data analyses for new data sources or novel applications of existing data sources. Establish links across datasets and identify new, valuable data correlations.Develop and maintain data dashboards to support project requests and strategic operational initiatives.Facilitate ongoing communication with cross-functional owners of various datasets.Clearly document development work to ensure transparency and maintain a historical record.Exercise thought leadership in tailoring tools, approaches, and data to meet the needs of specific problems.Present results and highlight key insights clearly and effectively.Provide recommendations for next steps based on findings.Educate and mentor business intelligence, data, and analytics professionals on techniques and tools.Lead and manage contractor resources in data science.Create project plans to ensure timely achievement of project goals; proactively communicate progress and escalate issues as necessary.Maintain records of progress and project history.Mentor junior team members and support leadership in setting strategic vision.Perform other duties as assigned.Required Skills/Abilities and KnowledgeAdvanced expertise in Python, SQL, ESRI, Alteryx, Tableau, and/or other data visualization tools.Strong proficiency in one or more scripting, analysis, or ETL languages; ability to quickly learn new technologies.Familiarity with modern machine learning technologies and ability to generate model scoring code.Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining 4G/5G and/or Managed WiFi network performance dashboards.Expertise in maintaining and scaling large databases and data lakes.Solid theoretical foundation across major families of machine learning models (regression, decision trees, clustering, SVMs, neural networks).Strong command of advanced mathematics (calculus, PDEs, probability, statistics) with ability to self-learn additional concepts as needed.Excellent logical, analytical, synthesis, and presentation skills.Ability to communicate insights to diverse audiences.Basic understanding of data architecture, data warehouses, and data marts.Demonstrated ability to continually expand skill set, both as a learner and a teacher.Experience with large-scale data, big data platforms, and streaming services.Related Work ExperienceData manipulation and statistical modeling as a Scientist, Consultant, Architect, or Engineer: 10 yearsSQL/R/SAS Programming: 10 years4G/5G/WiFi network KPI engineering: 10 yearsPreferred Skills/Abilities and KnowledgeExperience in telecommunications or other consumer-based industries.Expertise with big data ingestion, quality control, relationship modeling, regression modeling, anomaly detection, trending, and capacity planning.Background in operations and engineering, with focus on network planning, performance, capacity, release management, incident management, and deployment.Knowledge of cable or mobile wireless systems and operations.Experience with Hadoop ecosystems (Hive, Spark).Proficiency with tools such as SAS, SPSS, Alteryx, Linux.Knowledge of techniques such as text analysis and text mining.Familiarity with open-source ecosystems (R/CRAN, Python/PyPi, Hadoop).Education RequirementsMaster’s degree in a related field preferred.Seniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeContractJob functionInformation TechnologyIndustriesBusiness Consulting and ServicesGet notified about new Data Scientist jobs in Denver, CO. #J-18808-Ljbffr
