OverviewThe Groundman position is a first step to a rewarding career in the construction and maintenance of the nation’s Power Grid. You will assist your team in building, repairing, and maintaining overhead electrical distribution systems.ResponsibilitiesSupport the team by securing safety for yourself and others.Assist fellow line-workers in meeting project objectives.Join storm restoration efforts as needed.Operate vehicles and equipment in a professional manner.Continue training to improve technical and leadership skills.Perform related duties as required to complete the job.Qualifications and RequirementsAble to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License permit within 60 days of employment.Able to read, write and communicate effectively.Able to travel long distances on short notice, when required.Able to work for extended periods in various locations, when required.Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.Willing to work overtime and outside of normal work schedules, including weekends and holidays, as required for the position.Willing to work outside in various weather conditions.Work Environment and Physical DemandsPowerline construction work is performed outside and is subject to diverse weather conditions and loud noise levels.Team-members may be regularly required to talk or hear; stand; walk; use hands; reach; and perform rigorous physical labor, including climbing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces; knowledge of equipment setup and grounding; and basic rigging, hand lines, and lineman knot petenciesTeam-orientedSelf-motivatedCustomer service focusedEthical and honestFollows established safety rules and company policyGeneral ExpectationsAble to read/write and communicate effectively.Able to travel long distances on short notice.Able to lift in excess of 50 lbs.Willing to work overtime and irregular hours as required.Equal Opportunity and BenefitsEqual Opportunity Employer - Minorities/Females/Veterans/DisabledVA Approved Apprenticeship Program – GI Bill Benefits Available to Eligible VeteransPike Electric, LLC is a Non-union CompanyNOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
