OverviewThe Chief Financial Officer is the company’s in-house expert for financial accounting and internal controls. The role includes oversight of the dealership accounting team, managing relationships with lending institutions and other third parties, and insuring confidence in the company’s financial results.ResponsibilitiesOversees or directs all accounting functions, forecasting, audit, tax, collections, and purchasing.Works closely with the dealer on long-range planning, and cash management. Maintains relationships with financial institutions on matters of cash management and borrowings activities.Analyzes, coordinates, and directs all cost accounting processes and procedures together with other statistical and routine reports.Participates as an active member of the dealership Executive Team.Directs the Administration office in managing and implementing proper accounting controls, and appropriate record retention for all dealership business transactions.Oversees and directs the preparation and issuance of dealership/'s monthly financial reports.Performs miscellaneous financial analyses as needed for the Company (i.e. cost reduction and construction projects).Maintains close working relationships with external accountants to ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and responsible for preparing the annual tax package for outside accounting firm.Maintains the accounting for Westwind Properties and other related entities.Assists the dealership with cash flow management by monitoring contracts-in-transit, accounts receivable, and purchaser loan payoffs.Negotiates with insurers to provide insurance coverage and other benefits including health, vision, dental, property and casualty, workers compensation and 401K plan.Serves as trustee to the 401K plan, prepares annual workpapers for auditors, serves on the investment committee and performs periodic investment reviews with the plan provider.Additional DutiesADDITIONAL DUTIES include the following. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization/'s policies and applicable laws. Must have a strong accounting and management background in taxes and finance accounting.Language SkillsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.Mathematical SkillsAbility to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.,) in its most difficult phases.
