OverviewColorado Academy seeks candidates for the position of Girls Lacrosse Head of Program. The individual in this position will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the girls lacrosse program to include structural and administrative organization of the program. This position reports to the Director of Athletics.ResponsibilitiesAdhere to mission of the school, and ensure assistant coaches are also in complianceOversee all levels and progression including Lower School, Middle School and Upper School student athletes and coachesWork closely with the Director of Athletics to monitor and promote satisfactory academic progress and academic successWork closely with the Director of Athletics, Assistant Athletic Director, Middle School Athletic Director, Lower School Athletic Director, Director of Sports Performance, Athletic Trainers, Mental Performance Coach and Uniforms Coordinator for all aspects of the programPlans, strategizes and oversees all practices and scheduled contests to provide a positive and competitive experience for student athletesResponsibilities include practice plans, game management, statistics management, and program coordination and communication with coaches, parents, student-athletes, faculty and staffResponsible for maintaining film platform and managing player access (overseeing student managers to serve as point of contacts for game film)Assist with managing the hiring, supervision and evaluation of all coaches, and assure requirements for each position are metConfirm, attend, supervise, and administer home contests or arrange for proper supervision. (if applicable)Assist with scheduling MS & US contests - including cancellations and rescheduling practices and contests (due to weather or other hazardous conditions)Assist with assigning daily practice spaces for each teamAssist with upkeep of athletic facilities scheduled to be used for practices and games and communicate needs with our Operations departmentSubstitute coach for any level or provide coverage for absent coachesAssist with weekly transportation needs, if needed, for all off-campus US contestsAssist with purchasing athletic equipment, uniforms, snacks, etc.Assist with coordinating team photo schedules and submitting to the yearbook staffResponsible for updating team rosters as neededResponsible for updating Max Preps and CA Girls Lacrosse Team pagesResponsible for attending pre and postseason league meetingsResponsible for postseason league votingSupport professional development for coachesResponsible for evaluating coaches and providing clear feedbackResolve parental and student conflictsResponsible for coordinating supervision for injured studentsResponsible for coordinating return-to-play protocols with Athletic Training staff and coachesResponsible for coordinating off season and in season training schedules with our Director of Sports PerformanceResponsible for attending athletics and admissions events to promote the programResponsible for evaluating student/family applications and discussing with Athletics administrationResponsible for communication with our College office as it relates to recruitingResponsible for coordinating postseason banquet details with the athletic administrationResponsible for end of trimester reports cards for Varsity athletes and ensuring lower level coaches have completed report cards for their respective teamsRequirementsMust have significant knowledge of and proven success in coaching lacrosse at the varsity levelMust have highly advanced and effective interpersonal, motivational, and team leadership skillsMust be able to demonstrate creativity, sound judgment and decision-making, be an effective problem solver, and communicate effectively verbally and in writingMust be recognized expert in team sport and coaching principles for student-athletesEfficient in email management and managing emails in a timely mannerMotor vehicle record must meet standardsFirst Aid/CPR/AED CertificationGood written and verbal communication skillsAbility to make sudden changes in planned day or set – up without guidanceAbility to work under strict deadline and or stress/pressureStrong attention to detailTrustworthy, team-centered individual who is a values driven professional with a high level of integrity and accountabilityCandidates should be eager to join a professional community where collaboration is valued.Physical RequirementsMust be able to stand or walk for long periods of timeMust be able to lift up to 50lbsMust be able to reach, bend and stoop frequentlyAbility to work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the outdoor elementAll employees are expected to carry out the mission of Colorado Academy, "Creating Curious, Kind, Courageous, and Adventurous Learners and Leaders," and to support the vision of the school.Applicants are invited to visit the Colorado Academy website (to learn more about the campus and the school.The pay for this position is $10,000 - $15,000 for the official CHSAA season. Although this is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting, Colorado Academy reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range.
