Your Role As an Enterprise Account Executive at Ascend you will scale our enterprise sales function by engaging with senior leadership and key stakeholders across large insurance agencies and broker networks. This is a foundational role as we define our enterprise motion; you will help build it, land strategic deals, and bring enterprise sales excellence into the organization—coaching teammates and operationalizing enterprise best practices. Success requires selling into sophisticated organizations, navigating longer sales cycles with multiple stakeholders, and applying strategic discipline to every phase of the pipeline. This position is available in either San Francisco, CA or Columbus, OH. Responsibilities Objective #1 (First 30 days): Onboard and establish the foundation for enterprise success by understanding Ascend’s products, engaging with leadership, product, engineering, and customer success; reviewing current go-to-market efforts; shadowing and leading internal demos and enterprise discovery calls; and partnering with the Head of Revenue to set your onboarding plan (pipeline development, sales ops tooling, enablement). Objective #2 (First 60 days): Develop and manage a robust pipeline of larger agency prospects using an account-based approach; own the full-cycle enterprise sales process from prospecting to procurement and contract negotiation; formalize internal resources and templates to support repeatable enterprise sales; coach teammates on frameworks for stakeholder mapping, deal qualification, and executive communication. Objective #3 (First 90 days): Accelerate cross-functional collaboration with Customer Success and Implementation for a white-glove transition; collaborate with Marketing on co-branded content and materials for deeper enterprise penetration; provide strategic feedback to Product and Leadership on deal blockers and feature priorities; contribute to KPIs, sales process documentation, and coaching rhythms. You might be a good fit if you are / have Enterprise Sales Experience: Demonstrated success selling to larger organizations with complex decision processes. Experience in insurance or financial services is a plus. Leadership by Example: A player-coach mindset—execution-focused while elevating others through guidance and systems thinking. Process-Oriented: Ability to bring clarity to ambiguity and build scalable sales processes, including documenting, teaching, and evolving them. Adaptable and Hands-On: Scrappy, resourceful, comfortable with early-stage challenges and limited support infrastructure. Coachability and Initiative: Open to feedback, eager to improve, and able to push the organization forward when gaps are identified.
