Job Summary The National Institutes of Health (NIH) tracks approximately 75,000 facility assets across disciplines including Conveyance, Electrical, Mechanical / HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Life Safety. To enhance efficiency and accuracy in tracking and maintaining these assets, NIH has implemented an Integrated Work Management System (IWMS), streamlining the process for submitting and managing trouble and maintenance tickets electronically. As the prime contractor supporting this system, Salas O'Brien is seeking a Work Control Planner to join our team onsite at the NIH campus in Bethesda, Maryland. This role will primarily support the Division of Facilities Operations and Maintenance (DFOM), ensuring effective coordination and management of facility maintenance activities within the IWMS This Role, You WillSupport the Division of Facility Operations and Maintenance (DFOM) by assisting call center and work reception staff to ensure the customer requested maintenance tickets are efficiently assigned and prioritizedOrganize and coordinate maintenance or modification activities by reviewing maintenance tickets and linking them to the corresponding assets within IWMSAccurately document, track, and close out work within medical, lab, and large physical plant facilitiesDevelop work packages, instructions, and procedures to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant execution of taskLink maintenance requests to the specific assets responsible for reported issuesIdentify and report duplicate maintenance tickets to DFOM staffAssist DFOM staff with filters, reports, and dashboards in IWMS Nuvolo to ensure customer requested maintenance tickets are effectively risk-assessed and assigned appropriatelyHelp DFOM staff manage the backlog of low-priority customer requested maintenance tickets by developing and maintaining resolution plansCoordinate with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain management to support operational efficiencyProvide status reports and analyze production data to inform decisions and drive continuous improvement initiativesAdditional responsibilitiesReview and test monthly IWMS releases and identify or verify bugsAssist with the planning and prioritization of new IWMS releasesSupport the development and phased deployment of IWMS featuresCoordinate with IWMS developersProvide recommendations for system enhancements to improve functionality and efficiencyDeliver training and support for IWMS users on both desktop and mobile platformsManage the ORF IWMS inbox and provide customer service support for user inquiries and issuesQualificationsBachelor's degree from accredited institution in Facility Management, Operations Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering or related discipline (Preferred)Candidates without a degree may qualify with an equivalent combination of education and professional level experience in work control, planning, or logisticsProficient with the Microsoft Office suite of applications (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.), particularly ExcelKnowledge of Integrated Work Management Systems (IWMS) or Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) (preferred)Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate at multiple levels, including engineers, project managers, business analysts, and customersPreferred SkillsStrong problem solving and analytical skillsEffective organizational skills, demonstrated by ability to set priorities, coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, and show attention to detailSelf-starter, work well within a team environment with minimal directionGood team player and leadership skills, focused and motivated, problem-solverDemonstrates the ability to effectively collaborate with multiple levels of management, peers, represented workforces, and business ventory control principles and best practices for facilitiesAbility to understand engineering drawings and parts lists with accuracyStrong organizational and communication skillsProven ability to apply strong analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking skillsWork Authorization RequirementsMust be a US Citizen for Security Clearance requirementsAbility to pass government background checks and obtain Confidential government Security ClearanceLocation: Bethesda (MD) 100% onsiteSalary - $60K-75KAbout Us Founded in 1975, Salas O'Brien is an employee-owned engineering and professional services firm focused on achieving impact for our clients, our team, and the world.
