Wireless Product Validation Engineer

We work cross-functionally with Hardware Engineering, Hardware Technology, and Software Engineering. You will be responsible for developing, designing, and running tests to validate wireless features on Apple products. Additionally, you will lead automation of wireless performance testbeds and have the opportunity to contribute to the development of exceptional Apple products with unparalleled wireless experiences for our customers. Come join our team!DescriptionYou should possess a comprehensive understanding of wireless technologies and have direct practical experience demonstrating domain expertise in one of the wireless connectivity technologies, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth (classic BT/BLE), Thread/Matter. You/'ll have a deep theoretical knowledge of wireless protocols, hands-on experience in consistently validating one of these wireless technologies and good tooling and automation expertise in wireless performance evaluation.ResponsibilitiesReviewing design and product requirements, translating them into test plans, automating the tests, building wireless radiated lab setups that simulate different system conditionsEvaluating the performance of wireless technologies for specific products and demonstrating the user benefits of the technologyPerforming comprehensive measurements and analyses of multi-radio wireless coexistence scenariosPreparing test reports, dashboards to visualize data, performing risk assessment and failure analysis to aid data driven product decisionsWorking closely with cross-functional teams and representing the organization in key leadership forumsWriting high quality automation tools and scripts with minimal supervision or supportMinimum QualificationsBachelors degree in an Engineering fieldProven experience as a Software Test and Automation Engineer specializing in wireless technologies, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Thread, and other wireless protocols3 years of proven experience evaluating wireless performance in WiFi or Bluetooth.Knowledge of at least 1 existing wireless communication protocols: Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be) or Bluetooth/BLE, 802.15.4/Thread/MatterStrong written and verbal communication skillsPreferred QualificationsMaster/'s/PhD in an Engineering field preferredStrong debugging experience is highly desirableKnowledge of multiple existing wireless communication protocols: Wi-Fi (802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be) or Bluetooth/BLE, 802.15.4/Thread/MatterProficiency in network/RF tools such as iPerf, Wireshark, Ellisys, Network and Spectrum Analyzers, attenuators is beneficialExperience working with standards bodies in the wireless domain, including IEEE, Wi-Fi Alliance, Bluetooth SIG, Thread Group, is beneficialAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $163,300 and $245,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
