BGS cares for each employee's well-being by offering a comprehensive benefit package and providing a culture of exciting work, excellence, and fun.If you align with BGS' company values and culture, we would love for you to explore opportunities to join our growing team by checking out the job description below!ResponsibilitiesProvide technical insight and support for research projects in a range of topics focused on fleet modernization, maintenance and cybersecurity, mapping plant capabilities and associated constraints, optimizing hydropower operations, and developing new technologies to enable continued sustainability and energy teract with academia, industry partners, DOE National Labs and industry partners on research projects on behalf of WPTO teract with utilities, technology developers, ISOs, environmental groups, regulators, and international partners to understand perspectives of the hydropower and broader power system communities.Engage with WPTO stakeholders on an appropriate level to ensure needs and gaps are being addressed where possible at the Federal level.Collaboratively participate in areas of hydropower environmental outcomes, fleet modernization, low-impact hydropower development, and marine energy technologies.Developing and contributing to technical communications (reports, white papers, fact sheets, research summaries, briefings).Participate in and collaborate on conferences relating to hydropower, energy storage, cybersecurity, and/or renewable energy.Co-author publications such as white papers, government reports, stakeholder outreach materials, or peer-reviewed journal articles related to hydropower.An ability to identify activities that WPTO can take to increase the competitiveness and grid resiliency/reliability contributions of U.S. hydropower generation.Other duties as assigned.RequirementsMaster's Degree in Engineering (Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, or Electrical), or Cybersecurity.Experience working with or analyzing the U.S hydropower fleet components including dams, powerhouses, cyber-physical and control systems, electrical infrastructure, plant instrumentation, fish passage, and/or navigation facilities.Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills.Self-starter, an ability to work both independently and as part of a highly dynamic collaborative team.Must be a U.S. citizen.Successful drug screening.Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security or clearance badge.Preferred QualificationsMaster's or Ph.D. in field with a focus on the analysis, design, or impacts of hydropower.Experience with regulating authorities and standards for environmental compliance (EPA), licensing (FERC), cybersecurity (NIST), and reliability (WECC/NERC).Experience working for a hydropower owner/operator - to include USACE, BOR, TVA and/or other public or private utilities.Project management experience.5-10 years' experience in the hydropower industry.Registered Professional Engineer.Location/Work ArrangementThis position is a hybrid work arrangement in either Golden, CO or Washington, DC.BenefitsBGS offers a competitive total compensation package to eligible employees.
